I love Easter, almost as much as I love Christmas. It reminds me of my childhood when I would always join egg hunting activities. It’s something my girls also loved to do when they were still younger. But now that they’re 12 and 11 years old, they’re not really interested anymore.

So, I’m glad I still have Ziggy around. He’s only three years old and have yet to experience egg hunting. Last year, we did go to an Easter event but only to watch the show. So for this year, I really wanted a more fun experience for him. That’s why when my WAHM friend, Patty, invited us to take part in Greenbelt’s Easter Party yesterday, of course I said yes! What made it even more exciting was the fact that our other WAHM friends, Millie and Donna, and their respective families, were also joining the event. Yay!

This is what greeted us at the Greenbelt 3 park when we arrived shortly after noon.

Easter1

I loved the festive decor, most especially the colors!

Easter2

We couldn’t resist taking photo after photo after photo. I love this couch! I want one for our house. Haha!

Easter3

Here’s Ziggy, not too happy about me taking so many photos of him.

Easter4

Don’t you think Ziggy looks cute with his bunny ears? He actually didn’t want to put them on. But after seeing the other kids wearing theirs, he finally agree to wear his. Haha!

Easter5

There were free drinks, plus free ice cream from Baskin Robbins and cupcakes from Vanilla Cupcakes. Aside from that, there was also a mini organic market on one side, and booths for arts and crafts activities on the other side.

But before we tried them out, we joined the Golden Egg Hunt activity. Each kid was given a map. On each map were several stores that can be located within the 5 malls of Greenbelt. We all had to troop to all those stores and have the maps stamped. The first one to finish got to win the Golden Egg.

Well, none of us in our group won the Golden Egg. But we still had a lot of fun. Just imagine us, 4 families with a total of 5 kids, trooping together all around the mall. It was chaos and oh my gosh, so tiring. But it was so worth it! It was fun watching the kids who were all game to finish the hunt. They had a blast collecting candy (and more candy!) from the stores. One even gave ice cream (well, because  the store was Gelatissimo).

We were so exhausted after the hunt that most of us, except for Donna and her son Kib, opted out of the second main event, the Egg-ziting Egg Hunt. We stayed in the main area instead and tried out the different arts and crafts booths.

Actually, I was more of the photographer during that day and let hubby and Ziggy do all the arts and crafts together. It was such a great bonding experience for them. They got to decorate a paper egg with washi tape. They also made their own polymer clay bunny as well as a bunny puppet.

The only bummer during the event was the heat. Oh my gosh, it was so hot. But we were grateful for the big tent and the occasional gust of wind.  I don’t think the kids really noticed though. They were too busy having fun. And we all really had a blast hanging out with each other. I really hope we all get to hang out again soon.

Easter6

By the time the event ended, it was already late afternoon. Hubby and I decided to take Ziggy to Timezone, using the gift certificate we got for finishing the Golden Egg Hunt. And what do you know? We were able to collect over 100 tickets and so Ziggy left the place with new toy trucks. He was so happy!

We ended the day with dinner at Chili’s. I love eating at that place. It’s actually a family fave.

Easter11

That day, Ziggy was treated to more candy at Chili’s. Plus, they had a mini egg hunt activity too although there were only 10 eggs and Ziggy wasn’t able to find one. Oh well! We didn’t really mind. It was just great to spend bonding time with my boys. I only wish our girls were also there to spend the day with us.

Easter7

Well, at least they’ll get to share Ziggy’s loot.

Hope you had fantastic Easter too!

    1. Hahaha! Yeah, sanay kasi talaga siya to take a nap after lunch so he really couldn’t stay awake for the entire afternoon. Good thing he was able to take a short nap though. Made him less cranky. 🙂
