I love Sundays. I love it simply because it’s the one day during the week when I allow myself to sleep in and just relax with my family. Lazy Sundays are the best! That doesn’t mean you have to spend it at home though.

Last week, we were given an opportunity to experience what a laid back Sunday can be like when spent at Midas Hotel and Casino with the launch of their Midas Sunday Brunch.  Midas Goes Brunch & All That Jazz promises to give families the ultimate dining experience at the Midas Cafe, wherein they will treat you with homegrown breakfast classics, interactive live cooking, seafood and prime meat cuts and even a kid’s corner too, called Kids Zone, which they recently launched as well.

You know how sometimes parents don’t really get to enjoy a relaxing meal because they’re worried about their little kids running around in the restaurant? Well, Midas solves that problem with the Kids Zone. It’s a separate area within Midas Cafe, which was created especially for kids ages 5 and below. Parents can simply leave their kids there and not worry about anything. I was able to try it out and left Ziggy there while I dined with other bloggers at the Midas cafe dining area.

Kids are treated to a variety of entertaining activities such as several movie screenings, magic shows, arts and crafts activities, glitter tattoo and balloon twisting activities.

If they’re not interested in any of those (but seriously, what kid wouldn’t be interested in those?), they can just simply play safely in the area. There are Midas hotel staff assigned to take care of the kids and entertain them so parents can really relax and enjoy their brunch. Plus, the kids are also provided with their own buffet for FREE!

Here’s what we found at the Kid Zone buffet. There were mini burgers, chicken nuggets, spaghetti and hotdog sticks. Plus, check out the amazing dessert spread. For sure, your kids will love them!

I initially thought that Ziggy will keep looking for me and would not want me to leave him at the Kids Zone alone. But I was dead wrong. He didn’t really look for me at all! Haha! He enjoyed all the activities and the food so much that he actually didn’t want to leave. So, I really was able to enjoy my brunch with my friends, Millie and Mike, and some other bloggers. Check out what we found at the buffet.

Of course, I started with the appetizers. We were served a variety of cold cuts, prosciutto and other finger food as well as bread. There are lots of different types of bread to choose from.

The salad station also offers a delightful array of greens and vegetables as well as several choices of toppings and dressings.

At the Chinese station, you’ll find a variety of dimsum. Plus, for noodle-lovers like my hubby, you’d be pretty happy with the noodle station too.

Being such a meat lover, I was really happy upon seeing the carving station where you can find the Honey Glazed Ham and Prime Rib Eye. I love the rib eye! It was so tender and flavorful, I really had a hard time preventing myself from getting more than one serving.

But as in any other buffet I go to, my first stop is usually at the Japanese station. I just love, love, love Japanese food and I can’t possibly pass up the chance to have my fill of my favorite sushi, sashimi and maki.

The Western Station is also something you shouldn’t pass up. There is a selection of hot chafing dishes, plus a variety of meat and seafood for grilling. We were able to have some lobster and salmon grilled and I must say they were really very good. The lobster is totally something I would go back for next time.

Since this is a brunch buffet, they also offer breakfast dishes such as this – BACON. I got so sidetracked by the bacon that I wasn’t able to take photos of the other breakfast food. Sorry!

For dessert, you can eat healthy by choosing from a wide selection of fresh fruit.

MidasAllThatJazz10

Or you can choose to indulge in sweets, just like I did. Hahaha! There are a lot of sweets to choose from. Just take a look at the dessert buffet.

I swear it was dessert heaven! It was so hard to choose from the selection of cakes, pies, tarts, chocolate truffles, desserts in shooter glasses. And who can resist that luscious fountain of chocolate that can be paired with bite-sized cookies, marshmallows and fresh fruit? You’ll definitely find something here to satisfy your sweet tooth.

If that is not enough for you, let me tell you this – the brunch comes with your choice of drinks and that includes red or white wine, margaritas and mojitos. Oh yeah!

MidasAllThatJazz7

And since I haven’t had a drink in a long time (and when I say drink, I mean an alcoholic one, haha!), I had myself a mojito. Perfect end to a super satisfying buffet, if you ask me.

MidasAllThatJazz31

It was a truly relaxing way to have brunch and I will definitely be back, with the whole family next time. Do check it out! The Midas Goes Brunch & All That Jazz is available every Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., priced at Php 1,988 net (with unlimited sodas and iced tea) for adults and Php 550.00 net (with 1 complimentary Milo dinosaur) for kids 6-12 years old.

In case you get to visit the hotel soon, you might also get to catch their Christmas display at the lobby wherein we had an impromptu family Christmas photo shoot c/o our friends Millie and Mike. #MerryMidas

  10. ALL RESTAURANTS SHOULD HAVE A KIDS AREA! Haha! I don’t expect to eat a proper meal every time we eat out with the kids so I usually prefer to eat at home. The food looks delish, though! Would love to try Midas some time.
