Have you ever heard of the TV show called the American Ninja Warrior? It’s one of the TV shows that our entire family loves to watch. It’s really amazing to see athletes compete in the hopes of completing a really challenging obstacle course. And it’s not just your usual obstacle course. It’s a level up course that requires “ninja moves”. We love the show so much that our son, Ziggy, now wants to study parkour!

Well, something like that took place last Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Commercenter Alabang, Activity Center, when LIFT, a new fitness culture, had a level up parkour showdown composed of two stages. LIFT was an event organized by Headstart Marketing.

Participants were first weighed in by the coaches after which each batch were given an energetic warm up by the Chief Ninja from Ninja Academy, Raven Solar.

Players aggressively competed to complete the course in the shortest time possible (5 min max time game). Encouraged by the crowd and supporters, they had to show agility, strength and style on the following challenges:

Stage 1
Tic Tac
Monkey Bar
Cliff Hanger
Tire Run

Stage 2
4 Ft Slope
Rope Climb
Ibeam
Arm Ring

The entire course could be viewed openly by spectators and supporters. Each player who tried the course were cheered on even by their co-competitors. It was evident that there was truly a fantastic amount of sportsmanship and friendly rivalry during the Lift Event.

The 5 Champions who won the event were:

  • John Gerry Ramos of Ninja Academy (2.34 mins.)
  • Jeri James Pazunila of Anytime Fitness – Bicutan (2.36 mins.)
  • EJ Fabregas of Anytime Fitness – Bicutan (2.51 mins.)
  • Daniel Hilario of Anytime Fitness – Sucat (3.00 mins.)
  • Ivan Geoffrey Pineda – Regular Sign in (3.04 mins.)

In addition to FREE Lootbags during registration, winners also received special items from sponsors. The event attracted significant local sponsors, including Co-Sponsors Ninja Academy and Johnson Fitness and Wellness.

Major Sponsors included Evolve Yoga, Ace Water Spa, Lifeline and Commercenter Cinema. Other sponsors who were present were Dolfenal, UCPB Gen, Eye-Mo, Omron, Valda Pastilles, ACDS, Black Pig, Chubby’s Ribshack, Focus Athletics, Bridgestone, Centro Holistico, and Epic Cycle.

Looking forward to more events like this in the future!

  1. Yes! I think it was just yesterday or the other day that the boys are watching the American Ninja Warrior. And such fun that even school teachers and other professionals join the contests. Others are really preparing for the competition and who wouldn’t? They love the title and the fame that comes with it.

Seems exciting to see something close to that in real life. Ihihi.

Kaylangan mo talagang mag warm-up para di mabigla ang muscles mo at sasakit ang buong body mo. wow may pa loot bags pa sila ha.
