My son, Ziggy, is such a LEGO addict. He actually calls himself a Master Builder. So, when he found out that we got an invitation to a LEGO Friends event he got super excited!

The LEGO Friends event took place last June 30th at the Ayala Malls The 30th. It was actually a launch of the LEGO Friends weekend activities at the mall wherein kids can experience what it’s like to be part of Heartlake City, the hometown of five best friends, who face adventures side by side.

LEGO Friends

LEGO Friends is a product range of the Lego construction toy designed primarily for girls. Introduced in 2012, the theme introduced the “mini-doll” figures, which are about the same size as the traditional minifigures but are more detailed and realistic. The sets include pieces in pink and purple color schemes and depict scenes from suburban life set in the fictional town of Heartlake City. In the initial wave of sets, the larger sets include bricks that can build a veterinary clinic, a malt-style café, a beauty salon and a suburban house; smaller sets included a “cool convertible,” a design studio, an inventor’s workshop and a swimming pool.

Exciting games and prizes!

During the launch kids were asked to participate in a couple of building games.

The first game was a timed one wherein they had to build what they can using 60 LEGO blocks. Ziggy built a space ship.

He did well although I knew he could do a lot better than this. I think he had a bit of performance anxiety having to build something while so many people were looking on. So, he didn’t win any of the major prizes but that’s okay. He had another chance at the second game wherein the moms, including myself, were also asked to join. We had to replicate a LEGO structure, alternating with our kid, also in a matter of just a few minutes. We got close but weren’t able to finish and so we didn’t win the major prize either. The kids who didn’t win didn’t go home empty handed though. Just look at all the LEGO toys Ziggy got to take home!

Your kids can also have an awesome time at Heartlake City because these weekend events will be from June 30 up to July 9, 2017. Bring your kids and join the exciting activities and get awesome prizes from LEGO! Registration starts at 11 AM from July 1 onwards.

  1. This looks really nice! I remember there was a free Lego area in SM North that Nate and I love to visit. I’ll try to check if there’s an event near us. The nearest from our place here in Rizal is sa Trinoma and Fairview terraces lang e.

  2. My son likes Lego too, that is the main reason why we went to Legoland Malaysia. Lego is a nice gift din sa kids noh, ang mahal nga lang. 🙂 Winner pa rin sa dami ng loot.

  3. My son, who’s currently 2 years of age, loves building Lego, too! Grabe, ilang araw na akong nakakatapak ng Lego. The struggle is real! Haha! I thought of bringing him there, too. Kaso having a newborn na 2-months old pa lang, mahihirapan ako. So I told myself na next time na lang. There will be a next time for sure. 🙂

  4. My boys also love Lego. There was even a stage that they super love Ninjago and they would collect them all. Sadly, I could not give them everything as the Lego pieces arent that affordable.
Playing Lego is such a fun way to enhance the imagination of the boys. I hope there would be more activities such as these.

  5. Wow! That’s a lot of Lego toys for Ziggy! 🙂 Legos bring out the best in the child’s imagination and craftsmanship. I really wanted to attend this event as I know my little boy would enjoy it, but unfortunately may pasok sa school 🙁

  6. I have two masterbuilders! Hehe
Sayang! If the event was near our place, we could’ve joined. Lego was the only toy in the house that they never got tired of playing again and again. And whenever I sweep the floor, there’s always some wandering pieces. ?

  7. Oh wow, now that’s a loot! Not bad at all. And you did well, Ziggy! My son is into Legos and blocks, too. Sana magka-event din dito haha.
