Kai and I went to yet another check-up with my OB-Gyne today. We were hoping for the best piece of news ever …. that I’m about to give birth and that I should already head straight to the hospital. But of course, it didn’t happen.
What happened was that there was a slight improvement in the labor process. I am, as of this moment, at 3 cm dilated. Exactly a week ago, I was only 1 cm dilated. After everything I’ve done to move the process along as fast as possible, the additional 2 cm is really disappointing. I mean, I want to give birth already! But I guess, Ziggy’s not ready to come out yet. Well, the doctor did say it could happen any day now (which she also said last week). She also said that some women at this stage already experience the bloody show, and because of that would already be writhing in pain. However, I haven’t had the bloody show yet and though I have been experiencing contractions, they’re not yet regular. The thing is, I have a pretty high tolerance for pain and so she’s expecting that by the time I experience the pain that active labor brings, I could pretty much give birth in just a matter of a few hours after. That’s exactly what happened with my previous two pregnancies. Good thing our hospital is just ten minutes away.
Well, I guess there’s nothing else to do now but wait. I was advised to not walk so much in case I get much too tired to push when the time comes. Oh well.
