I am officially 37 weeks and 1 day pregnant today. For those of you who have been reading my blogs, you’d know that I was already 1 cm dilated since Tuesday and that my OB-Gyne said I could give birth any day now, possibly within the week. Unfortunately, it has been 4 days since that check up and I am STILL NOT in active labor.
Let me just say that I am trying my darnest to be patient, but looks like baby Ziggy is choosing to take his sweet time coming out. At this point, I have accepted the fact that I probably can’t do anything more to gently coax him out and just try to be patient enough (how?) until he’s ready. One of the things I’m doing to pass the time is to blog and so I thought I’d document here what I have already done to try to get him to come out. Let me count the ways:
Tuesday:
  • Found out I was 1 cm dilated so I already hurried to fix some last minute stuff.
Wednesday:
  • Still no labor so I decided to help my daughters finish their school projects already to get them out of the way.
  • Walked up and down three flights of stairs twice.
Thursday:
  • Went out to do the groceries with Kai, which involved at least an hour of walking.
  • Walked up and down three flights of stairs TWICE.
Friday:
  • Went to the mall with Kai, walked around the ENTIRE VICINITY of the mall for about an hour and a half.
  • Ate a spicy Shawarma.
  • Ate pork chops with spicy sauce.
  • Walked up and down three flights of stairs TWICE.
Saturday (today):
  • Did something that is not really appropriate to blog about.
  • Did some squats (which a friend of mine recommended).
  • Plan to walk around the village this afternoon when it’s no longer too hot.
  • Plan to walk up and down three flights of stairs again TWICE.

I don’t know what else I can do, except to wait. Kai is already starting to get antsy, too. His mom, Grandma Ging, is already starting to get worried. I get text and Facebook messages from friends every single day asking if Ziggy’s out already. Argh! When I say I’m still home they tell me that Ziggy’s probably waiting for my birthday on Monday. Gosh! I mean, he’s going to be the best birthday present ever, but really….
Sorry for all the ranting and whining, but I just don’t want to wait anymore!

    OMG…too funny!

I would say something that sounds wise and intelligent like,

*good things come to those who wait
    *patience is a virtue
*instead of anticipating the next moment, enjoy the one you’re in. (Heeyy…that one’s kinda good. lol)

But since I know you’re not tryna hear that right now I’ll just send you a HUG! (I betcha haven’t tried squeezing as yet…huh?)
