When I first read about cloth diapering when I was pregnant with Ziggy, the image that automatically came into my mind was the old-style “lampin” (cloth diaper) that moms used before. It’s usually just a gauze-y type of cloth that you need to clip to hold in place. Then you wash it after use then you can reuse it again. So, when I read that cloth diapering nowadays has become more modern, I immediately became interested.

I researched a lot and found a lot of cloth diaper brands with uber cute designs made of natural materials that are said to be gentler on and safer for the baby. Because of that I really, really wanted to use them for Ziggy. However, I changed my mind when I got caught up with the hecticness of caring for three kids, plus taking care of the household mostly on my own when we started having problems finding reliable household help. So, I told myself that I’ll try to adjust first to life with three kids and no household help before I give cloth diapering a try. I just didn’t have the time to do extra loads of laundry for cloth diapers.

So last year when cloth diaper brand, Bamboo Dappy, asked to partner with this blog for a giveaway I immediately said yes. They gave me this cloth diaper to use on Ziggy for a review.

Ziggy loved it and so did I. Hubby liked it too. So, we began thinking of finally switching to cloth diapers already. However, that was around the same time when my WAHM career finally took off, which meant I had even lesser time for household chores and so we opted to delay our switch for the meantime. However, we continued to use the Bamboo Dappy diaper on Ziggy every so often.

Our desire to switch to cloth diapers was ignited recently when Ziggy got sick and suffered from diarrhea for several days, which caused rashes. The brand of disposal diapers he was using then also added to the problem. He was super in pain. He cried so bad whenever we had to clean him up and it really broke our hearts. It was the first time he’s ever had rashes and so it was really something terrifying for us. The only diaper that didn’t seem to irritate him even more was the cloth diaper. So, for the nth time, we thought of switching again.

I researched and researched again and decided that it would be best to get cloth diaper pull-ups or training pants for Ziggy since he’s already 2 years and 5 months old. Pull-ups are said to be really good in assisting with potty training. However, I couldn’t find stores that sold pull-ups. Most of the cloth diapers I saw were of the regular ones, which I’m sure will no longer fit Ziggy in a few months’ time.

It was perfect timing then when I was invited to attend the recent Belly Blessed Fest at the Podium, which I also blogged about. There, hubby discovered this cloth diaper brand Cluebebe. They had the cutest designs. They even have cloth diaper tutus for girls. Best of all, they have pull-ups in uber cute designs too.

Since Ziggy is crazy about trucks, this is the design we chose to buy. Super nice, right? We decided to buy one first to see how Ziggy will like it. It already comes with a microfiber-eucalyptus insert. But we bought another set of inserts just the same.

Look at how cute Ziggy looks wearing it! Most importantly, he’s comfy and happy wearing it. It’s looking like we’ll be buying more cloth diapers soon. Let’s just hope I can keep up with the laundry!

Do you cloth diaper your kids too? Share your experiences with me! I could use some tips from experts. 🙂
