OMG! I’m finally on WordPress! Woohoo! It’s all so new and exciting to me. Migrating to WordPress was only just a dream for me before. I’ve always wanted to make the big switch but only recently became prepared for the responsibilities involved. So, welcome to my new home! πŸ™‚

Did you also notice my new domain? It’s now www.therollercoasterride.com and no longer fiveofus.info. It’s more fitting, right? I should have made the switch a long, long time ago but like I said I wasn’t prepared to yet. However, my experience with migrating this blog just now made me realize that I really should have done this back when I had fewer posts and fewer links. Honestly, it’s not easy but mostly because of one huge blogging dilemma that had me looking like this most of the time for the past several months.

The sad thing is that most of the traffic and links that I’ve worked hard for for the last three years will now be wasted because I’ve chosen not to redirect my followers from my old domain to this new one. To make a long story short, I discovered that my blog on Blogger had some problems with links and scripts that has also affected how it’s being redirected to this new platform. It’s a very techie problem and I’m not that much of a techie. I don’t even know if I was able to explain that well. Haha!

Although I’ve tried asking for help from my techie friends, nobody seems to know how to fix it. So, the only other option left is to totally leave the old blog behind. The posts are all still here at my new home but those who will click on links to my old domain won’t be redirected here at all. It’s like I have to start fresh. So sad. So frustrating. But what can I do? Lesson learned, I suppose.

I’m just trying to focus on the positive now. Like what my friend, Patty said, at least I now have a more appropriate domain. Plus at least I’m now on a platform that is supposedly more secure and will hopefully not cause me the same problems with links and scripts, etc.

Also, I’m trying to focus on the fact that I can now redesign my blog’s look. Woohoo! Actually, I miss my old header. It has sentimental value to me because my hubby designed it for me last year. For the meantime though, I’m still using in on my Facebook page, while I try to figure out first what I want my new design to be.

So, if you have friends who you know read my blog, please help me out and let them know where to find me. I’d really appreciate it.
