I have said this a million times before but I will say it again. My hubby is not only a great partner to me but he’s also an awesome hands on dad to Ziggy and stepdad to Zoe and Ziya. So, of course, I couldn’t let Father’s Day pass by without doing something to celebrate his awesomeness.

Hubby is actually not big on celebrating Father’s Day. I think he prefers I spend the money on more useful things but I believe he deserves a treat every now and then, right? So, the week before Father’s Day I actually took him shopping and he let me buy him a new pair of pants. Woohoo!

But of course, during Father’s Day weekend, I wanted to celebrate by letting him choose what he wanted us to do. My only request was that we do it a day early because on Father’s Day itself, the girls will be out with their dad. So, hubby decided he wanted us to attend the Sky Cable Sky Kids Play Day event on Saturday afternoon then have dinner out after.

So, off we went to Rockwell tent on Saturday afternoon. My friend, Chrissy ,was the one who invited us to the Sky Cable Sky Kids Play Day. I knew it was going to be fun because there will be lots of stuff for the kids to do there and lots of food too!

As expected, there were several booths that had activities lined up for the kids. The girls busied themselves in the arts and crafts area where they designed their own headbands. Ziggy and hubby holed up in The Learning Library booth were they read some books. We were later joined there my by friend, Millie, and her kids. Hubby and I enjoyed ourselves by eating free food. Haha!

There were also a lot of fun contest on stage as well as photo opportunities with Iron Man, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. Ziggy, of course, insisted to have his photo take with all three of them.

But I have to say that the highlight of the event for us was hubby’s name being called out on stage as one of the raffle prize winners. He won a gift certificate of a one month free session applicable to any Learning Library program. I was so happy! I was already thinking of letting Ziggy try out their Beginning Readers program. Now he can try it out for free!

After the fun event, we headed to the newly-reopened Burgoo at the Power Plant Mall. I’ve always liked it there but it has been a while since we last dined there.

Since we weren’t too hungry yet, we just settled for a plate of Fish and Chips and their Ultimate Fajitas plus some drinks. OMG. I love the fajitas. I especially love the taste of the shrimps. This is definitely something I will order again in the future.

As for the Fish and Chips, I’ve tasted better but this one’s okay too. Plus the serving size is really big. We actually weren’t able to finish it then. So, we took home some of it and hubby and I finished it off during movie time at home that night.

All in all, it was a really nice family day. I think the hubby appreciated my efforts to make him feel special and that’s all that matters, right? It’s the least I can do, really.

  6. Almost the same thing happened to us on Father’s day. We watched a movie with the kids “How to train a Dragon” and had dinner afterwards.

Hehe.

  11. At this point of time, it’s very rare for a family to bond. And people may only remember their father during their “father’s day,” (thanks to that lady who advocate to put one more than a century ago).

Looks like a great family right there!
