As a work-at-home mom with three kids and no household helper, there’s always a lot for me to do. Because of that, there’s rarely time for me to spend with friends or even go out by myself to enjoy some me-time. So, when my friends Patty and Michelle, invited me to enjoy a pampering session at Fringe Salon along with my other friend Millie, of course my reply was a resounding “YES!”.

Fringe Salon is still relatively new, having opened its doors only last October 2013 at Commercenter in Alabang. It is owned by Evelyn R. Tagle, who really took the time to pay attention to all the details that went into designing the salon and choosing the top-of-the line equipment. Her passion to make Fringe a truly classy, sleek and modern yet homey pamper-me place for its clients is obvious once you set foot inside.

Fringe is so not your typical “parlor” where the staff and the customers are so noisy and music is blaring loudly from the speakers. On the contrary, Fringe is so clean and well-maintained with soft music playing in the background. Plus, the staff are so friendly, accommodating and really trained to pamper you to the max! You’ll see what I mean by that later.

When you go inside the salon, you’ll be greeted by this sight. There’s a small reception area to the right of the entrance. There are only a number of salon chairs with lots of space between stations. That way, you don’t bump into the customer next to you. The mirrors are so huge that you can see yourself from head to foot.

And see that couch? It’s a really beautiful Cobonpue couch that is so chic and comfy too! I also saw this make-up station prepared for that day. Mind you, Fringe only uses MAC cosmetics for its clients, so you can be sure you’ll end up looking great. On one side, you’ll also see this amazing foot spa chair with a back massager and a built-in tub. I so want one for the house! When I come back to the salon, I am definitely getting a foot spa.

The salon’s second floor houses the two private areas that can be used for small spa parties or if they just want more privacy when they visit.

There’s also a fully-equipped massage room with a shower and even a Jacuzzi fitted with a mini TV. Ooh I’d love to spend a relaxing day here. That’s pampering to the max, don’t you think?

Oh and also for that day, Fringe made sure we had some nice treats to eat and so they asked Coco Cakes to set up this buffet of sweets for us! See how cute the cakes and cookies are? The red velvet cupcakes are so yummy, I swear.

So now let me tell you about the services. I was so lucky enough to be treated to a hair color service plus a manicure and pedicure. ย Take note of how I look in this photo below. I was in full on donya mode! See, the mirrors are so huge that you can see yourself from head to foot!

Fringe only uses Cuccio, an organic brand of nail polish, which doesn’t damage your nails and make them yellowish. So great!

I chose a light pink shade for my fingernails and a darker pink shade for my toenails. I really love how they turned out. I also have to mention that myย manicuristaย really took the time to clean and shape my nails, so gently and without hurting me. I give her props for that! What I was really excited about was the hair color. The last time I had my hair colored was back in college. I just got myself a short hair cut last month, and while I love my new ‘do, I feel it lacks “life”.

My colorist at Fringe took the time to ask me about that because they needed to make sure that I will not be allergic to the stuff they will put on my hair. Given that it was so long ago that I had my hair colored, they did a skin test on me first to see if I will get any allergic reactions. Thankfully, I didn’t. So, off they went to start on my hair. Don’t you just love how they take care of their clients? Oh and take note, they served me homemade lemongrass iced tea and some biscuits too. Love it!ย (Photos below courtesy of MRLightworkz Photography)

I chose a dark brown shade because I didn’t want a drastic color change. To add depth though, what they did is make the top part of my hair slightly lighter than the back part. And this is the result. Tada!!!!

How do you like it? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I love it so much that I posted several selfies on Instagram. It was the only time I allowed myself to be vain. Hahaha! But, this photo from Millie and photographer hubby, Mike of MRLightworkz Photography, is the one that really shows the results the best.

They did a great job with Millie’s hair too! Oh, and I was so grateful I was able to spend time with my two best WAHM friends that day too.

Thanks so much, Fringe Salon, for pampering me to the max and for doing such a great job on my hair. I will be back, no doubt!

  9. I love your hair! I love Millie’s too! And I love the nail color, very practical. I also feel like my hair, even when I get it cut and styled, needs some color to add “life” to it, but it’s so hard to maintain for me. ๐Ÿ™‚
