In our household, one of the most major items on our grocery list is always food. With four people here full time, plus two more every time our girls are here (and one more growing inside me!), you can imagine just how much food we consume.

Because we spend a lot on food, we also hate wasting it. That’s why we have to be smart about the types of food we buy, how we prepare and store them.

Did you know that according to a recent report by the Food and Agriculture Organization, a staggering USD 2.6 trillion worth of all food produced in the world gets wasted? That’s really alarming because there are so many people, kids especially, out there who are starving.

This is why I believe that we all have a responsibility to do our part in helping prevent food waste as much as we can. At home, Glad helps us do just that. We’ve been users of Glad products for years so imagine my delight when I received a huge package of their products a few weeks ago.

Let me share some ways how we like to keep what we love fresh by using Glad products at home.

I’d have to say that Glad ClingWrap is one of the products we use a lot in our kitchen. When we cook, we rarely cook enough for just one meal. We like to cook food good enough for at least two meals because it lessens the number of times we need to cook, plus it saves on gas expense as well. But that means we almost always have leftovers. Often times, we also buy big bags of snacks that we can’t possibly finish in one sitting. These are what we use Glad ClingWrap for.

I love that Glad ClingWrap is clear so I can see exactly what I wrapped and that it really does seal in the freshness of the food. I don’t need to worry about anything from the refrigerator spilling on it or from any bugs getting to it when I leave the plate on the table.

I also love that Glad ClingWrap is available in several sizes: Catering Wrap (33 cm x 300 m) for P 594, Glad ClingWrap (30 cm x 30.5 m) for Php 89.40, Glad ClingWrap refill (30 cm x 20 m) for Php 53.60, and the Glad ClingWrap mini (20 cm x 20 m) for Php 55.

I only recently discovered the Glad Press and Seal though. It’s also like the Glad ClingWrap but I noticed it’s not really as clear. However, it is leak-proof and has an airtight seal brought about by a GRIPTEX technology that is activated when pressure is applied.

We also love the Glad Storage bags. It has an extra wide seal that seals tight every time. We use it in so many ways around the house such as to store cookies or chips …

to store food that we marinate ahead of time.

We’ve even use the big ones to store Ziggy’s clothes, the ones that hubby takes with him in his “daddy bag” whenever we go out.

We love having Glad in our house! You guys should check them out too.
