I don’t know about you but I love bath and body products. Unfortunately for me when I was younger, a lot of the really nice bath and body brands were foreign and expensive. I remember having to wait for a relative to come home from the US just to bring me stuff from my favorite bath and body brands.

Well, thankfully fifteen years ago, an enterprising Filipina named Michelle Asence-Fontelera noticed how expensive imported bath and body products were and how no local brands provided the same good quality at affordable prices. She then decided to answer to the need of every Filipina to elevate her beauty, style, and home without breaking the bank by creating Zen Zest in 2001.

Zen Zest is now fifteen years old! Can you believe that? I was in my early twenties then. I had just started working when this brand came out and I remember being very excited to try out their products.

So much has changed though. Zen Zest started by concocting and packaging their initial colognes, hand sanitizers, lotions, perfumes, and soaps in Michelle’s own home. From having a small stall in SM Megamall, Zen Zest has now grown into a successful enterprise with over 100 outlets nationwide and abroad (in Japan, Bahrain, and Brunei), selling 100,000 bottles of fragrances every month. Aside from their initial offerings, their product lines now also include body scrubs, home fragrances, and their latest venture – baby colognes.

Last May 23, I was fortunate enough to have been invited to celebrate #ZenZestat15 at Le Petit Souffle at the Century City Mall.

We were served a really delicious lunch from Le Petit Souffle. I ordered the salad, the carbonara, the iced green tea matcha drink and the green tea parfait. So yummy!

But of course the main highlight was the buffet of Zen Zest’s various product lines presented to the guests that day. The spread was divided into two major sections: Home Fragrances (aromatherapy and home fragrance) and Personal Fragrances (Eau de toilette and Classic Collections).

I was so thrilled when we were all invited to go around and choose several products from these sections. I tell you, it was very hard to choose.

Here are some of the products on display.

Home Fragrances

Who doesn’t want their home to smell lovely? You can choose among these air purifiers and fragrance blends.

Aromatherapy

As we all know, certain scents can have various effects on our mood and our general health. Zen Zest has several aromatherapy products oils and linen fragrances to choose from. These are just some of them.

Eau de Toilette

Of course, we need to smell good too. Zen Zest has a line of Eau de toilette products for both women and men.

Classic Collections

The Classic Collections are composed of lotions, body sprays and body scrubs for daily use.

After much deliberation, I finally chose to take home the following. From the Classic Collection, I chose the body spray and body scrub in Cotton Flower. The attendant recommended these for me because she saw I was pregnant and apparently the cotton flower variety is the most suitable for expectant moms. For the Eau de toilette, I chose Thistle for me and Cobalt for my hubby.

For the home fragrances, I chose two scents that are really, really mild because my hubby doesn’t like strong scents at home. I got the Forest Bamboo and the Rose Petals varieties. For the aromatherapy scents, I chose the Energize and Uplift variants for the linen fragrance, Sleep for the aromatherapy oil and Energize for the massage oil.

We’ve been using all these at home for the past couple of weeks. I’m really, really happy with what I chose. I love that there are so many scents to choose from. There’s sure to be something that each person would like. I’m also quite pleased with the packaging. One of the problems with some local bath and body products is that they’re not packaged well. Zen Zest’s packaging can surely rival any imported brand. But best of all, Zen Zest’s price point is very low while maintaining the quality and beauty of their products inside and out.

For sure, I’m going to explore more of their product lines. I especially want to have their Cotton Flower scented lotion, so that I can layer it with the Cotton Flower body scrub and body spray that I got. I just love the fresh, just-got-out-of-the-shower scent of it. Plus, my skin really feels pampered with these products.
