One of the things that our whole family had been waiting for since we first learned that I was pregnant was the gender of our new baby. Some people find out the gender through an ultrasound during their second trimester of pregnancy. However, since we opted to have a 3D/4D ultrasound again this time, we had to wait until I was at least 28 weeks pregnant.

Why have a 3D/4D ultrasound again? Well, because we enjoyed it during the first time we did it, which was when I was pregnant with Ziggy. Even if it’s more expensive than the regular 2D ultrasound, it was one expense we didn’t really mind because we just really love seeing the baby’s face and body parts, as well as its movements, more clearly.

I researched for 3D/4D ultrasound packages and in the end it came down to either Ogusca or In My Womb. Ogusca, located in Festival Mall, was where we got Ziggy’s ultrasound before. I still considered In My Womb though because they opened a new clinic in Healthway Greenbelt, which is where we sometimes go for check ups. In the end, we chose Ogusca again because we felt that the package will give us more bang for our buck.

Here’s what Ogusca’s 3D/4D Ultrasound Package includes:

  • 1 pc Personalized CD with mom’s picture and baby’s 3D picture on the CD cover (w/ 5 colours/designs to choose from). This CD contains all the 3D/4D files saved during the sessions.
  • 2 pcs. 3D pictures
  • 2 copies fetal biometry report

You get the above for a package rate of Php 4,350.00. It was actually more expensive now compared to when we first got it in 2010, which was I believe only Php 3,500. But that was a long time ago and they had a promo then so I understand the price increase. Learn more about Ogusca’s services here.

Anyway, for those of you interested to avail of their various ultrasound packages, I suggest you call them first to clarify what each package includes. Also, if you plan on having your ultrasound on a weekday, you can actually set an appointment. We chose to have it on a weekend though, a Saturday to be precise. On weekends, they’re on a first come, first serve basis. So, come early!

Hubby and I went to Ogusca with our three kids two weeks ago and tried to be there as soon as the mall opened at 10 am. We got to Ogusca at around 10:20 am and there were already five preggy moms on the list. I was advised to go back at 1:30 pm because each session lasts a minimum of 20 minutes. Since there was only one OB/GYN sonologist and her schedule was only until 12 noon, I could only be accommodated by the second doctor who starts her session at 1:30 p.m.

So, we did some errands first and had lunch. Around 1:00 p.m., the staff at Ogusca sent me a text message asking us to go back already and just wait for my turn there. When we got there, the reception area was already full of people! I only had to wait a minute though before I was already asked to go inside one of the two ultrasound rooms so that they could prep me.

Hubby and kids had to wait in the reception area for a bit until the sonologist was ready to show them the baby. The reception area wasn’t that big but was welcoming and comfy enough. It had two couches and several chairs, plus a small reception table. The walls had several frames of 3D ultrasound photos. There was also one TV.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to take photos of the actual ultrasound room because it wasn’t allowed. Aside from the ultrasound machine, it had one bed for the mom, a couple of chairs for guests, plus a big screen TV where we could all easily view our baby.

I think we were there for around 30 minutes because our baby was a bit shy. But after trying for some time, the sonologist finally became satisfied with the amount of photos and videos she was able to take that she didn’t ask me to come back anymore for another try.

So, are you ready for the gender reveal? To those of you who guessed I’m having a boy, you’re right! We’re having a BOY!!!! Woohoo. Let me share with you a couple of his 3D photos.

He’s so cute! We can already tell that he looks like his dad and so much like his big brother, Ziggy. All our three kids were actually praying for a baby brother and so they were really pleased with the outcome. I was so happy he gave us a smile in one of the pics.

Here’s one of his 4D videos that I shared on my IG account and on Facebook just last weekend.

Our baby boy was so comfortable lying against my placenta that he would sometimes hide his face behind it, which made it challenging to take his photos. He also liked putting one of his hands in front of his face. The sonologist kept joking that our baby is the shy type. Haha! There wasn’t any problem at all finding out his gender though because the sonologist could see it clearly. However, it wasn’t as clear on the photo compared to the one of Ziggy’s from before.

Anyway, after the session, they already give you the two copies of the fetal biometry report and some machine print outs of some of the pictures. As for the CD and the actual 3D photos, you have to come back for them after three days.

In the fetal biometry report, we learned that our baby actually weighs bigger than the average for a 28 week baby. He was weighing more like he was already 30 weeks old, which was really a surprise because I had only gained 5 lbs so far for the entire 28 weeks of pregnancy. At least now we know we no longer need to worry about his birth weight being too low.

So, anyway, because we were given machine print outs after the session, we were able to do a gender reveal on social media that same afternoon. And this is what we ended up posting. It’s pretty simple but we’re happy with it.

When we finally came back for the CD and the 3D photos, these are what we got.

The CD, which was supposed to have my photo and the baby’s photo only had the latter. In my excited to find out our baby’s gender, I forgot to ask why they didn’t take my photo during the session if it was supposed to be part of the package. But it wasn’t such a big deal so I just didn’t mention it to them anymore. The two 3D printed photos were included.

All in all, the CD contains fifteen 3D photos and sixteen 4D videos. So, we’re pretty happy with it. We’re just so happy that our little boy is doing great inside me. We actually finalized on a name already the night before the ultrasound. Haha! I’m a bit sad that we’re not going to be using the girl’s name we chose since we’re not having a girl. But, I kind of already knew we’ll be having a boy anyway because of how active he is inside my belly. All is good. We’ll now have 2 girls and 2 boys. Waaaa!!!!!

Now that I’m writing this, I’m already 31 weeks pregnant. I only have a few weeks to go before I finally get to hold our baby in my arms. I can hardly wait!

Hi. Question lang po. ? Sana may makasagot po. Thanks mga mommies!
