When you decide you want to sell your humble abode, you need to make sure it’s in an excellent condition if you want to make a sale as quickly as possible. After all, you are more likely to find a buyer quickly if your home looks amazing. And while there are some big renovations you can do such as fitting a new bathroom, it’s often the small things which can make a buyer’s decision. Therefore, here are some small details you should work on as they will make a huge difference when you try to sell your home.

Giving the garden a revamp

While people often spend time getting the interior ready when they come to sell, the exterior also needs some work. After all, the garden can often make or break people’s decision about whether they want the property. Therefore, it’s time to ensure it’s looking perfect before you put your home up for sale. As well as cutting the grass, make sure you take care of your plants. And remove any weeds which might ruin the look of your yard. It’s also worth fixing any issues with the fence and gate. After all, if they are not in the best nick, it will stop potential buyers making an offer.

Ensuring it’s nice and clean

It’s hard to keep up with cleaning our home. After all, we are so busy in our life with our family and our work. But unless you want to be on the market forever, you need to ensure your home is spotless. After all, an untidy home will put people off the property straight away. As well as not looking hygienic, clutter everywhere can make the rooms look smaller. And it can stop them realizing the benefits of your home. In fact, they might rule out your home completely if it’s in a poor state. Therefore, it’s time to get your cleaning gloves on and make sure your home is in good condition. Make sure you clean the house from top to bottom and get rid of any clutter that has built up. On this occasion, it might be worth getting a professional to come and help. There are many companies similar to Domestic One who can come out on an ad-hoc basis to clean your home. Therefore, you can ask them to help out to ensure your home is clean before viewings.

Moving your family’s items away

A lot of studies which have been completed have found that the home needs to be as depersonalized as possible to ensure you get a buyer quickly. After all, as this article says, it allows buyers to visualize how their items will look in your house. And they will struggle to do this if it’s full of your personality. Therefore, before the realtor takes photos of your home, move your family’s items away. Put toys away under the bed and move photos out of shot. It’s also a good idea to move anything belonging to pets as this can put them off coming to your home. Ensuring it’s a blank canvas for potential buyers will result in an offer sooner rather than later.

And you should make sure you rid any bad smells before you have potential buyers over to your home. You can do this with candles or by baking bread!

  1. These are nice and helpful tips. I though personal things like photographs would make the home look more homey and buyers would love that. But you have a point there. I love the tip on keeping the smell at bay with baking bread. Not aware of that it could remove unpleasant smell.
