Kai and I went to my OB-Gyne again today for my routine check-up. We weren’t really expecting to hear what she told us and so it came as a bit of a surprise.
My due date is on March 13. I wasn’t really expecting to reach that date though because I gave birth to both Zoe and Ziya two weeks earlier than their due dates. So at the very least, I was expecting to give birth to Ziggy two weeks earlier as well, right around my birthday week, which is on the 3rd week of February. So, with that in mind, I was really thinking we still have more or less 3 weeks to finish all the preparations. But I guess, Ziggy has other plans.
For the past month, I’ve been telling my OB-Gyne that I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks contractions. She wasn’t that much concerned because it’s normal during the third trimester. However, she did instruct me the last time I saw her to take Duvadilan whenever the contractions last too long or becomes too painful. The Duvadilan will help prevent pre-term labor. So, being the obedient patient, that’s exactly what I did. I only had to take Duvadilan for four times during the past two weeks.
Today, she asked me if the contractions are still the same and I said yes though they’re becoming more and more frequent. So she did a check up and found out that Ziggy is already well-positioned to come out! And not just that, she also said that I will most probably give birth even before my birthday! My cervix is still closed as of now but she said that if I’m not careful, it might open and trigger an even earlier delivery. Oh no! So, from now on, she told me to take Duvadilan twice a day and to stop doing any more heavy chores around the house and that I should get more rest. So easy to say, so hard to do……But I guess, you gotta do what you gotta do, right?
I was right, though. I knew it! Ziggy will not be a March baby at all. Instead, we will be sharing the same birth month, which makes it even more exciting for me. I mean, can you even think of a better birthday present than your own baby boy?
