Pregnancy Update: 36 – 37 Weeks

Kai and I went to my OB-Gyne again this afternoon for a scheduled check-up. Turns out all our predictions were correct. Although I am due to give birth on March 13, I will most definitely not be able to wait that long. 

During my last check-up two weeks ago, my OB-Gyne already said that I will most probably give birth before my birthday. Well, my birthday is not until Monday, February 21, and apparently, as of today, I am already 1 cm dilated! My OB-Gyne’s predictions will most definitely come true, not unless I really go into strict bed rest for the next few days if I want to prolong giving birth until next week. But what are the chances of me going into strict bed rest? I was never one to just lie in bed and do nothing. Besides, I can hardly wait to give birth.

Right now, I’m already feeling some pain on my back and some below my tummy. But they’re more uncomfortable than painful at this point. Still, my hospital bag and Ziggy’s baby bag and car seat are all packed and in the car already, just to be sure. I have a history of going into labor really fast. With Zoe, I experienced labor for only 4 1/2 hours and with Ziya only 4 hours before I gave birth. In both cases, I also only felt regular contractions when I was already 5 cms dilated. So, I’m expecting that this time with Ziggy will most likely be the same. 

Oh my gosh, I could just be counting hours instead of days. If you don’t see me posting anything on this blog for at least the next two days then that could only mean that I’ve gone into active labor and have gone to the hospital. But for sure, I’ll be back with stories of Ziggy’s birth as well as with tons and tons of photos! Would appreciate all you guys praying for a fast, easy, normal delivery and a healthy, happy and normal baby Ziggy. Thank you!!!!
