I am proud to be a woman. There are many accomplishments to be proud of with regard to developments on women’s rights but at the same time, there are still a lot more issues to address especially in other parts of the world, where these rights are still oppressed. Being a woman, and having two daughters, I feel so strongly about these rights. I believe we are lucky to be living in this period of time where women have achieved so much and are well-respected in a lot of aspects in life. Women who lived long ago weren’t so lucky.
It is for that reason that I think we should do what we can to continue to protect and uphold these rights for the sake of the future generation of women. This is exactly what the International Women’s Day is all about. It is held every year on March 8 all around the world in order to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women. This year’s United Nationa’s theme is Equal Access to Education, Training and Science and Technology: Pathway to Decent Work for Women. Each celebrating country may have a different theme and may celebrate in any way they want. For more information on the participating countries and on their various events click here.

Sounds like it is going to be a wonderful day! Congrats on the birth of your son. Also in regards to my giveaway for Little Green Books, I am sorry but it is only for US and Canada. I forgot to put it in when I was writing my post. I am sooooooooooooo sorry!
