In about five hours, I have to wake up very early in the morning to once again prepare my daughter, Zoe, for school. Yup, it’s her first day back in school tomorrow. I can hardly believe that summer is officially over. Time flies by too fast, if you ask me. Zoe’s a fourth grader now and will have to stay in school for a whole day already. I am trying to prepare myself already for the countless homework and school projects that she’ll surely have for the whole year.
As if that isn’t already hectic enough, tomorrow is Ziya’s first day in homeschool too! Yup, we finally made the decision to homeschool her. At first we considered homeschooling both girls but it was really only Ziya who wanted it. Since Zoe has been doing really well in school anyway (she was awarded with First Honors at the end of the last school year), we figured it would be okay for her to remain in regular school. Although Ziya’s grades have always been above average, she wasn’t really too fond of the idea of waking up so early just to catch the bus. Also, she was more excited with the prospect of having mommy teach her instead. So, we start our homeschooling journey tomorrow. I admit I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I am optimistic and excited but on the other hand, I am also nervous and scared. This is my first time as a homeschooling mom. I just hope and pray that I’ll do a great job teaching her.
The next ten months will surely be hectic, crazy and busy, busy, busy. I am already getting really tired just thinking about it. Good luck to me and the kids!
