It’s Ziggy’s 20th Week! Oh, he’s almost five months old by now and it’s making me panic a bit that time seems to be flying by TOO fast. I want to enjoy Ziggy as a baby for a long period of time. At the same time, though, I am proud of his milestones.
Anyway, on week 19 I blogged about how concerned I was about his gas pains and his screaming fits that Ziggy’s pediatrician finally told us to try if Zantac will work on him. We gave him Zantac for four consecutive days. It worked for the first several hours but then Ziggy will start screaming again once the medicine starts wearing off. The pediatrician then recommended that we switch his formula again to a soy-based one. So, we started him on Isomil Advance 1 yesterday. Oh, I am so happy to announce that it’s working! Ziggy is lactose-intolerant like Mommy! I’m not exactly happy about that but just glad that we finally got rid of his tummy aches. He’s just a lot calmer now, thank goodness! That was actually the only thing I was worried about because everything else about his growth and development are progressing properly.
Ziggy has been eating for a week now. We started him with Cerelac brown rice with milk and he’s still continuing with that but with bigger portions. We were planning to introduce mashed vegetables already this week but we’re holding off for another week because we just started him on his new formula. Hopefully, the milk will really work out so that Ziggy can start eating more new foods starting next week.
Here are Ziggy’s Week 20 photos:
On  Day 134, I took a photo of Ziggy’s feet because it has been a long time since the last one. His feet has grown so much bigger now. Although he’s only 4.5 months old he’s already wearing shoes for those 6 – 9 months old already. I guess, that should be expected seeing as both myself and his dad have big feet.
For Day 135, I took a photo of Ziggy while he was still in bed, very early in the morning. He’s still usually in a very good mood when he wakes up in the morning.
Ziggy can’t roll over yet but he’s starting to learn how! He can now turn to his side like on this Day 136 photo. From a tummy-lying position he can also go back to lying down too.
The stuffed dog that Ziggy’s is holding on this Day 137 photo is actually Ziya’s. He just likes holding and playing with it because it’s soft and fluffy. Ziya’s also very generous in letting Ziggy play with her stuffed animals.
For Day 138, I wanted to take a photo of Ziggy with Daddy Kai. Ziggy just loves being carried like this. He also looks intently at the person when they’re talking to him, just like in the picture where he’s “talking”to his dad.
On Day 139, I wasn’t planning on taking photos yet when Ziggy suddenly posed like this by pulling his shirt up. It was so funny I couldn’t resist taking a photo. I kept trying to pull his shirt down but he would pull it up again. Maybe it was because it was hot!
On Day 140, we all attend a birthday party for Kai’s aunt. It was the first time for most of Kai’s relatives to see baby Ziggy and so it was really nice seeing all of them fuss over him. On this photo is Kai’s sister and Ziggy’s aunt, Cris. She’s the best aunt ever, if I do say so myself. She sometimes babysits for us whenever Kai and I need to go somewhere we can’t take Ziggy. Ziggy’s so blessed to have so many great people love him!
