August is Buwan ng Kamalayan (Awareness Month) in the Philippines. It celebrates the Filipino language and the Filipino heritage. All the schools in the country usually organize their own activities in celebration of this month. Of course, Zoe and Ziya’s school did the same. Aside from cooking Filipino food a week ago, they also prepared for the culminating activity, which happened earlier today.
Here’s the colorful backdrop at the stage area.
All the school kids dressed in Filipino costumes and performed Filipino songs and dances. Here are some photos of Zoe and Ziya during the event.

Zoe was one of the hosts (as usual)!

Here are my girls after the event. Aren’t they pretty?

Everybody were encouraged to bring in some Filipino food and so we enjoyed them all after the program. It’s just too bad I wasn’t able to take a photo of the buffet table. My digicam’s battery died soon after the photo above was taken. Oh well! Another school celebration has ended. Looking forward to Science month in September!
