A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about winning a Nursery Makeover contest for baby Ziggy, which was sponsored by a local parenting magazine. Well, their first appointment to come over to our house for the ocular inspection got cancelled on Wednesday. However, it finally took place just last Monday. Ooohhhh, we were all so excited!
The first to arrive was the designer and her architect hubby along with their 8-month old son. They were a pretty nice couple. They took a look at Ziggy’s present nursery and took measurements. They asked us questions about Ziggy’s favorite toys, what colors we want for the room and if we had any items on our wish list. Of course, we readily supplied them with all the necessary info. I told them we only wanted light colors and prefer blues and greens. I said that Ziggy likes playing with balls as well as with trains and other vehicles. So, I guess they’ll make that the theme of the room. I also said I wanted more organizing tools for Ziggy’s cabinets. The thing with Ziggy’s cabinets is that they wanted to take it out and move it to another wall so that the layout will be better. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will be possible. I trust them with whatever they’ll come up with though. I can hardly wait for them to show us the proposed design and layout. We were told that the renovation will take place in October so we still have several weeks to clear out the room. My dilemma now is where to store all of Ziggy’s stuff while his room is being done. I’m sure we’ll figure something out.
After the designer and her hubby left, the writer and photographer arrived. “Before” photos of Ziggy’s room were taken. We were told that all four nursery makeover winners will be featured in future issues of the magazine. The first one in November, the second in December while the third and fourth will be in the combined January – February 2012 issue. The sequence will depend on who’s nursery gets finished first. They will show both the before and after photos. That already makes me excited but the more exciting fact is that we get to have a family photo in the new nursery, which will be on the feature too. Yippee! Family photo shoot! That should be fun. I can hardly wait!
whoaaah! that is so cool and super exciting…
