Earlier today, I received a text message from my daughters’ school principal. She gave me the exciting news that once again, Zoe will be ending the school year this month with honors. Yahoo! I knew it! Not to brag, but she has been in the honor roll since kindergarten. Last year, she even got the most prestigious place – First Honor, which was her ultimate goal in school.
The principal did not reveal exactly what place Zoe got this year. It will be revealed to us during the Recognition Day which will take place in a little over a week from today. I will be going up in front again to place a medal on Zoe. I honestly can’t count anymore the number of times I’ve placed a medal or pinned a ribbon on her. Zoe has been awarded in school for so many things already. So, hearing the news that she placed again this year wasn’t exactly a surprise but it doesn’t make me any less proud. I have always been proud of my mini-me. She has never given me any problems so far in terms of her education. I hope that continues until she graduates from college.
Education is really one of the best gifts any parent can give his or her child. Of course, I hope and pray that the education that my kids are getting now will help them excel in whatever field they choose in the future. Although all the various medals and ribbons are indeed something to be proud of, the most important thing really is for them to succeed in life.
