I have been a fan of babywearing ever since Ziggy was about a month old. Since then, I’ve been using the Saya, which is one of the most popular brands of baby carriers out in the local market now. Daddy Kai is also a fan of babywearing and he uses a foreign brand of baby carrier that was actually a hand-me-down from his sister. It really is a good thing that both of us babywear because Ziggy hates his stroller. I just wish more of my friends wear their babies too. I think none of them do, which is really too bad because babywearing has a lot of benefits both for the baby and the parents.
Anyway, I was really happy to finally be able to attend the Babywearing Meet last Saturday, March 31. It was the 4th meet that has been organized and I wasn’t able to attend the first three. I was really excited about it because I was eager to see the other baby carriers available because I’ve been wanting to buy more. However, most importantly, I wanted to be among other moms and dads who babywear too. So, I was really glad when I bumped into a former college blockmate, Belle with her baby, Julia. She babywears too!!!!
It was really nice to see like-minded people there. A lot of people came and it was really fun. I am proud to be part of this group of people who are happy to be HANDS-FREE!!!

Another great thing about this experience was the raffle. All sorts of prizes were given away. Of course, if you know me, I’m usually lucky about these things. I actually won a Blissful Babes baby pouch from Indigo Baby! I was so happy because I really wanted a pouch since it’s great for those times when you’re in hurry to wear your baby. It’s just super fuss-free! Here’s a photo of sleeping Ziggy and me holding my new pouch and posing with Buding Aquino-Dee, the creator of the Saya and one of the babywearing advocates mentoring moms and dads during the event.
I’m looking forward to another babywearing event. Now that I have the Saya wrap and the Blissful Babes pouch, I’m dreaming of getting other carriers too. Hahaha! I’m getting quite addicted to this, don’t you think?
