I had been anticipating Mother’s Day for weeks but when it finally came, it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. I actually made plans to take my hubby and the kids for a fun day out at this nature park that I haven’t been to before. It was supposed to be a day full of adventure with boat trips, biking, fishing, eating and just enjoying nature and each other’s company, of course. However, the girls spent the entire weekend with their dad and were unable to spend Mother’s Day with me. So, that made me quite glum about the whole thing and didn’t want to push thru with the nature park plan with just hubby and Ziggy. Fortunately, the hubby was able to turn my mood around by taking me and Ziggy out to SM Mall of Asia.
It actually turned out to be a really fun day. It doesn’t happen that often that I get to hang out with just my boys. We started the day with lunch. In the spirit of being more adventurous, we decided to try out a restaurant that we haven’t tried before and so we went to Peanut Butter & Co. I’m really glad we did because the food we ordered were really yummy! Kai ordered the combo meal of Asian Noodles and Peanut Butter Sandwich while I ordered Curry Chicken Pasta and Peanut Butter Sandwich.
We clowned around while having lunch. Haha!

Aside from the fact that the food tasted really good, the cost is also worth it too. The combo meals cost less than Php150.00 and included a tall glass of iced tea. Next time, I’ll try their Marshmallow Peanut Butter Sandwich. I’m sure it will contain a lot of calories but it looks yummy!
After lunch we walked around a lot and when we finally got tired, we settled at Seattle’s Best for some coffee and cookies. Ziggy couldn’t keep still and kept walking around looking at the other customers and even went to look at a dog. Anyway, we also took photos of course, and we got this nice shot of the three of us.
By that time it was already late afternoon and the sky was starting to become gray. We decided to cross the street to SM By the Bay. There were A LOT of people hanging out and enjoying not just the seaside but the numerous rides. We so wanted to ride the air conditioned ferris wheel. When we got there we saw that the line was a bit long and it costs Php 150.00 per person! Holy moly! And when we asked the ticket attendant if we had to pay for Ziggy as well, she yes! What??? Oh well, by then it started to drizzle and so we decided to ride the ferris wheel next time, which is just as well considering the cost. So, we decided to just take pictures.

Ziggy loved the train that went around the place. We just watched it go around. Next time, we’ll have to ride it with him.
We also got some watermelon juice and enjoyed people watching. We especially enjoyed watching the people at the zipline. It was crazy because you can do it while with someone else. Some even did it in groups and with their kids!
I was surprised to see that there was a Manny Pacquiao statue in the area. Haha!
We let Ziggy just roam around, which he loved! And we just took picture after picture after picture.
Soon, it began to rain though, so we went back to the mall and had dinner. But on the way, we passed by a mochi stand …. and so dessert came first before dinner! Kai had a blue vanilla mochi while I had a chocolate one.
For dinner, Kai decided to take us to Gumbo! It’s one of my favorite restaurants. The food is good and the servers wear these really nice hats, which they also had lying around the place.
We just love the Seafood Jambalaya so of course, we ordered a large plate of that and some mozarella sticks for Ziggy!
It was totally not what I planned for the day but in the end, I really had such a great time. Thanks to my wonderful hubby, who also did so many chores earlier that day so that I wouldn’t have to. Awww! I’m not just a lucky mom…. I’m a lucky wife too!
To all mothers out there, I hope your Mother’s Day was as awesome as mine.
