Last Sunday, we had a double celebration at my brother’s house. It was, of course, Father’s Day, but since my mom was about to have her birthday this week, we decided to celebrate it already too. It was definitely a great way to save on expenses (not that we’re cheap!).
Anyway, we had a really nice time just hanging out. Kai and I busied ourselves with keeping Ziggy out of trouble, eating and watching movies on TV. We haven’t been able to watch that many movies during the past year and so it was a real treat. We brought pizza (of course!) as our contribution to the food. But basically, it was my mom who spent and cooked everything else. She made her famous sweet spaghetti, barbecued pork chops and fried chicken. She also served various pastries she bought from a store plus mangoes for dessert. My brother and his wife bought my mom a birthday cake.

My mom busied herself feeding everybody, especially her grandchildren. It’s not that often that her four grandchildren are all together and so she was really happy that she got to spend several hours doting on them.

The kids, of course, busied themselves by playing and playing and playing.
As for the fathers (Kai and my brother), they just pretty much did what they do best – they ate and took care of the kids. Haha!!!! Seriously, though, there’s so much to be grateful about with the fathers in my life, especially Kai. I hope that even with this simple celebration, these fathers still feel the love and the gratitude of their wife and kids.

Happy Birthday, Mommy! Happy Father’s Day Kai and Leonard!!!!
