Two Sundays ago, we went to the Powerplant Mall in Rockwell because the company where hubby works sponsored a family movie day for all the employees. The movie was Hotel Transylvania! We were so excited because we’ve been waiting for it for a while now.
Hotel Transylvania tells the story of Dracula, who built a high-end resort for monsters located somewhere far away from the human world, to protect his daughter, Mavis. However, time came when a human chanced upon the hotel and falls in love with the teen-age Mavis. The film features the voices of Adam Sandler as Dracula and Selena Gomez as Mavis among others.
Initially, we were only given three tickets and so hubby decided to just let me and the girls watch while he and Ziggy roam the mall for some father and son bonding time. But as luck would have it, he was able to score another ticket for himself. Of course, we couldn’t leave Ziggy behind. Luckily, since he’s only 19 months old and doesn’t require his own seat, they let him in with us too. We were so excited. This was our first movie experience as a family of five. This also marks Ziggy’s first movie experience.
I was very apprehensive about Ziggy coming with us to watch the movie because I was afraid he’d cause a riot inside the theater. When we first came in (with our free popcorn and drinks!), Ziggy was fine, happily going up and down the theater stairs. When the lights dimmed and the movie started, Ziggy sat down with us and happily ate some popcorn. But that lasted only 10 minutes. Before we knew it, he had climbed down from his dad’s lap and started walking up and down the stairs again. Of course, since the movie already started, we couldn’t allow him to do that anymore. But Ziggy was very persistent and so the struggle began. Hay!
Hubby and I ended up taking turns taking Ziggy to the hallway so that he can walk and run there instead. At some point, I decided to just carry him and stay with him at the hallway. It was a good thing we could still see the movie from there. We all loved it, especially Zoe and Ziya. The movie was so cute and so funny! Definitely a must-see for families. It’s just too bad taking photos inside the cinema was not allowed. I would have loved to take a photo of the five of us there. Even though it was a challenge because of Ziggy, it was still a nice experience to have as a family.
Anyway, we had dinner at Jollibee afterwards. There I was able to take this photo.
Ziggy does this every time he sees the Jollibee statue. Ain’t it obvious how much he loves Jollibee?
