Last Sunday, hubby and I decided to take the kids to Fully Booked at the Bonifacio High Street to celebrate Halloween. I learned that they will have a fun Halloween event with lots of activities and so I immediately signed the kids up for it. This is Ziggy’s second Halloween. He was only 8 months old during his first Halloween and so he didn’t really understand what was going on. So, we were excited to take him and the girls trick-or-treating this year since he can actually now enjoy it.
For this year, Zoe dressed as a Chinese girl while Ziya dressed as a Spider Lady. Those are new costumes they are wearing on the photo. During the last two years, they dressed up as witches. Unfortunately, they outgrew the costumes already. It was time for a change anyway and so I went and bought new ones. Ziggy’s bunny costume, on the other hand, is a hand-me-down from my friend, Darla. I was so grateful that we didn’t need to buy him a costume because babies and toddlers grow so fast. For sure, this costume will no longer fit him next year. Anyway, don’t the kids look cute?
So, we headed to Fully Booked at around 2:00 p.m. and were surprised by the huge crowd. Apparently, they were still accepting other people in even though there were already a lot of us who pre-registered. In the end, the place really got overcrowded. It didn’t even really matter anymore that we pre-registered. That was really frustrating because Ziggy got so cranky already because of the crowd that we ended up leaving the main area at the ground floor where the activities were supposed to happen. So, we went to the second floor instead and tried to watch the activities from there.
Here’s a photo of me and my kiddos while we were waiting at the second floor.
While at the second floor, we visited the comic book area and were pleased to find that they were giving away free comics to the kids. Here’s what Zoe and Ziya got.
There was a storytelling session about Alice In Wonderland. As you can see, this view is from the top since we were at the second floor. See how many people there were at the ground floor? The photo does not even show all of them. The storytelling is actually quite amusing if you can actually concentrate on watching. But since we were standing by the second floor railing, the kids easily got tired and eventually decided to go. We didn’t even get to see the Geronimo Stilton mascot who was due to come out after the storytelling. Oh well!
It was a good thing, though, that we got out of Fully Booked when we did because we found out then that the trick-or-treat activity at the Bonifacio High Street had already begun. Apparently, some of the stores joined in for the trick-or-treat. We didn’t even know that they’ll be having a trick-or-treat so it was a pleasant surprise. The girls were so excited!
Here’s hubby with Ziggy trick-or-treating at Calvin Klein.
Below is a photo of Zoe and Ziya getting treats from Tempur.
Here’s hubby and the kids falling in line at Krispy Kreme wherein they gave out free donuts (of course!) instead of candy.
All in all, it was a nice but tiring day for all of us. While it wasn’t exactly what we had planned, we were happy that the kids were able to trick-or-treat. Incidentally, this day was also Ziggy’s 20th month birthday, which we actually forgot about! At least, we were still able to, sort of, celebrate it as well. Haha!
Happy Halloween everyone!!!
