My Ziya turned 10 last January 2! Gosh, I can hardly believe it. She has been my baby for eight long years before being blessed with another baby. In many ways, she’s still very child-like, which is something that I hope will remain until she grows old. Some kids are just too mature these days. Ziya, of course, has grown up a lot and has become more responsible, loving, helpful and caring big sister. However, she’s still fun-loving, cheerful and playful. I am so proud of the person she’s turning out to be.
Anyway, this is a milestone birthday so we celebrate twice. The first one was during her actual birthday. Since it was a weekday and my hubby had to work that night, we only had time to have lunch out. Of course, we let Ziya choose where she wanted to eat. Since she wanted fried chicken and her favorite place to have that is Max’s Restaurant, that’s where we went.
We had this family basket of chicken consisting of only dark meat (yey!). There were eight pieces in the basket and we finished them all. As usual, Max’s fried chicken is always “sarap (yummy) to the bone”!
We also had Sinigang na Tiyan ng Bangus. Oh so, yummy! I haven’t had milkfish in a while and we all love sinigang so this was a real treat.
Ziya and Zoe both had their favorite corn shakes.
Hubby and I were pretty happy with the selection.
Ziggy was just happy eating and playing as usual.
It was a great albeit short lunch.
Our second celebration happened last Saturday night, wherein we had our immediate family over. Actually, it was just my hubby’s immediate family plus my mom because my brothers and their families couldn’t make it. Since Ziya loves Barbie, I made sure she had a Barbie banner.
We also had loot bags for the kids and kids-at-heart in Barbie for the girls and Toy Story for the boys.
Boy, was there a lot of food. Too much for 12 people with five of them just kids. Just take a look.
We had Lumpiang Shanghai and Pichi-Pichi from Amber.
We also had Pancit-Bihon Guisado from Amber.
My hubby cooked this super yummy roasted chicken and potatoes.
My mother-in-law also surprised us by making her oh-so famous lasagna, which we all love.
We even had two cakes. One was the Mango Cake from Red Ribbon that hubby and I got Ziya because it’s her favorite.
The other one was a super moist chocolate cake from Cielin’s given my my sister-in-law, Cris.
It was food heaven! Until now we have yet to finish the leftovers.
It was a simple celebration but it was enough to make Ziya happy. She also celebrated a few days earlier with her dad’s family. For her birthday, her Dad took all of them to watch Disney on Ice. So, I’m sure Ziya’s feeling pretty good about her birthday this year.

Although she’s already 10, Ziya will always be my baby girl. Happy birthday Ziya!
