I’m already a bit delayed in writing this post since Ziggy’s birthday was actually last February 28. I’ve been so busy with work the past three days that I haven’t really been able to blog.
Anyway, Ziggy has turned 2. Yey! Since his birthday fell on a Thursday, we initially planned on a dinner celebration with my immediate family and hubby’s immediate family on the Saturday after his birthday, March 2. However, hubby’s family was going out of town that weekend. So, in the end, we opted to have two celebrations instead.
The first celebration happened on Friday night, March 1. We had a dinner celebration at home with my hubby’s family. Here’s Ziggy with my in-laws, whom he adores so much.
Here’s the birthday boy with his Mango cake from Red Ribbon. Ziggy’s so into cake lately so he really loved devouring this one.
I was very hopeful that he’ll blow his candle this year since he already knows how to. However, when the time came, we sang the happy birthday song and all, he experienced “performance anxiety” and refused to blow the candle. His cousin, Mccoy, ended up blowing up the candle for him instead. Oh well! There’s always next year!
Since this dinner was kind of last minute, we opted for a simple menu. We bought Pancit Canton and barbeque from outside, as well as the cake. Then we just cooked rice and fish and chips. My parents-in-law brought in salad and cake too.
Here’s the birthday boy again, who insisted on wearing this long-sleeved shirt even though it was hot, just because it had trucks on them. He LOVES trucks!
The second celebration happened the next day, this time with my side of the family. My hubby’s aunt has a condo unit for rent in one of the nicest condos at The Fort. One of the benefits is that we can go swimming there anytime we want. So we took the opportunity and took my family there as well.
It was so nice to swim there! It wasn’t that hot at all because the pool was surrounded by tall buildings.
The kids super loved swimming! They couldn’t get enough of the pool.
Here’s my brother, Leonard, and my nephew, Zack, who unfortunately did not want to swim and just ended up sitting at the steps of the pool.
Here’s Ziggy with my mom and sister-in-law, Tricia.
After swimming practically the entire day, we just had some food delivered to the condo unit. We chose the Shakey’s Monster Meal Deal because it had everything we wanted – two kids of pizzas, chicken and mojos, two kinds of pasta and soda. Of course, Ziggy had another Mango cake again.
We finished dinner pretty early and so we took the opportunity to take my family around Bonifacio Global City since they haven’t really been there a lot.
It was so nice to see the kids walking ahead of us holding hands. So sweet!
Of course, we had to go to the fountain area of Bonifacio High Street Central. Zack saw all these kids getting wet, playing with the fountains and he wanted to join in on the fun. However, we didn’t permit him to this time. My girls and Ziggy have played with those fountains several times already in the past.
We also took them to the Terra 28th Park and had a blast playing Patintero. Haha! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo of that!
Our day ended with coffee and donuts at Krispy Kreme courtesy of Tito Leonard and Tita Tricia.
Ziggy had a blast, I think! Haha! It’s not that often that we get to spend so much time with our immediate families so this was a treat.
My baby boy is indeed, growing up so fast. I can hardly keep up. Part of me is sad that he’s no longer a baby. But another part is very excited to experience his growing up years.
Happy birthday, Ziggy! We all love you so much!
