I’ve been a parent for a little over 12 years now. I am now a mom to three kids and because of that I can say that I’ve learned a lot about parenting over the years. Most of the stuff I know now I learned through experience and through research.
Back in the day though, it wasn’t this easy to research about stuff. We didn’t have an Internet connection back then. During my first pregnancy, all I had were pregnancy books from the bookstore and lessons from my mom and from our doctor. I was also one of the first from my group of friends who got pregnant so there weren’t a lot of people to consult. I always wished there was some other way for me to learn what I needed to learn before I gave birth.
First Time Parents: Delivery and Newborn Care
It’s so different now because there are a variety of sources to choose from. One of those sources are workshops such as the upcoming First Time Parents: Delivery and Newborn Care workshop, a collaboration between Manila Workshops and Medela House, together with Stemcord Philippines, Inc.
The workshop aims to prepare new parents for the first few days and months of caring for their babies. It will take place on February 22, 2014, Saturday, 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the Medela House, #29 First Street, New Manila, Quezon City.
The speakers for this workshop are two distinguished doctors namely Dr. Milette P. Romero and Ms. Joyce Martinez and the topics to be discussed are as follows:

- Newborn Baby Care
- All About Breastfeeding
- Safe Sleep
