If you’re looking for activities that your kids can join this summer then check this out. McDonald’s has already started accepting registrations for their annual Kiddie Crew Workshop.

For those of you who don’t know, the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop started way back in 1991. It’s a 5-day summer program for kids ages 6 – 12 years old that aims to teach kids and let them have fun at the same time.

During each workshop day, the kiddie crew members are given the experience of an on-floor training in the store with tasks such as greeting customers at the door, serving food on the counter and even at the drive-thru booth. They’re also given arts and crafts and other fun learning activities. The best thing about this is they also get to learn important values such as hard work, team work and discipline.

Two years ago, my girls, Zoe and Ziya, were able to join the Kiddie Crew Workshop at the McDonald’s branch at Alabang Town Center. It was really a great experience for them. I actually wrote several blog posts about their experience and you can read them here, here, and here. (Disclaimer: I wrote those posts prior to migrating this blog to WordPress so the formatting is weird & I haven’t had the time to fix them yet).

Anyway, if you don’t have time to back read, let me just share with you some of their photos from two years ago.

Here they are posing with their Kiddie Crew hat, shirt, bag and I.D.

Here’s Ziya (on the right) behind the counter listening to a customer’s order. She helped put the food on the tray.

Here’s Ziya again by the door waiting for customers to arrive so that she can greet them with a “Welcome to McDonald’s!”.

This is Zoe at the drive-thru. I thought this was so cool. Haha!

The fifth day is actually the class graduation wherein they got to perform a song number. Read about it here. Ronald, of course, was in attendance.

They got to take home the products of their arts and crafts sessions.

They also received a certificate of completion.

As if that wasn’t enough, they also got to join the Grand Graduation Bash later in the summer after all of the kiddie crew batches were done with their workshops. That year, the bash was held at the World Trade Center and I tell you, there were hundreds of people then. Click here to read the full post about it.

We’re planning to enroll the girls again for this year’s Kiddie Crew Workshop. Since Zoe just turned 12, this will be her last chance to join again. So, we’ll take advantage of the opportunity while we can.

Registration has started last February 14, 2014 and will last until April 30, 2014. I believe the fee this year is only less than Php 600.00 for the 5-day workshop. That already consists of the hat, the shirt, bag, materials and food, etc.

The schedules of the workshops are as follows:

Week 1: March 24 – 28

Week 2: March 31 – April 4

Week 3: April 7 – 11

Week 4: April 21 – 25

Week 5: April 28 – May 2

Week 6: May 5 – 9

Week 7: May 12 – 16

Week 8: May 19 – 23

Week 9: May 26 – 30

To register, just go to the McDonald’s branch of your choice and ask for a registration form.  For more information, visit their website at https://mcdonalds.com.ph/index.php/content/page/kiddie_crew.

I’m sure your kids are going to have a lot of fun!!!

  12. This is one great way to train kids and teach them the value of hard work and patience. Having worked at a fast food outlet before, I know how extremely challenging this job is. But the takeaways are worth it.
