A couple of weeks ago, I started noticing some friends of mine posting photos on either their Facebook or Instagram accounts that have the hashtag #100HappyDays. I started to become curious about it. So naturally, I did my research.
#100HappyDays is actually a challenge that you join, wherein you will have to post one photo a day of something that made you happy. It should go on for 100 consecutive days. It can be a photo of anything at all. Of course, you have to put the hashtag, #100HappyDays, as well. For more info about it, do visit www.100happydays.com.
I decided to join this challenge because I love photography, but more than that, I thought it was a great way to document the small and big things in life that make me happy. The whole point of the challenge, anyway, is for people to realize that no matter what they’re going through in life, there’s always something (no matter how seemingly small or insignificant) that can make you happy each day.
I decided to start last February 21, which was my birthday, because it’s a great day to celebrate all the wonderful things in my life that makes me happy. I also chose to post on my Instagram account (in case you want to follow me!).
I am really hoping that I will be able to finish this challenge. To encourage myself even more, I decided to blog about my #100HappyDays post on a weekly basis, so that I can share them with you guys too.
Here are my posts for the first week, Day 1 – 7:
Day 1: Feb. 21
It was the day of my birthday and I woke up to find my eldest daughter, Zoe, scrambling to put something on the dining table. It turns out she and Ziya, my second daughter, bought me a gift and they wanted to surprise me. They wrapped the gift (a bottle of cologne!) and even wrote me a letter. Who wouldn’t be happy with daughters like them, right?
Day 2: Feb. 22
We were having lunch that day when I got a delivery – a dozen red roses! Initially, I thought it was from my hubby. However, it was from my sister, Joan and her hubby, Sam, who lives in New York. I hardly ever receive flowers so I really loved this gesture.
Day 3: Feb. 23
We attended my nephew’s first birthday party at The Village Clubhouse in BF Homes. Hubby and Ziggy went swimming while the girls and I just lounged around with our relatives. I saw the girls talking and giggling like this while lounging by the pool. It pleases me to see them getting along so well. I really hope they stay best friends for life.
Day 4: Feb. 24
Nothing much happened that day ‘coz I just stayed home. It was a typical Monday. But food makes me happy and I love pork chops. So, this was the highlight of that day. Haha!
Day 5: Feb. 25
On this day, I received a free download of a movie app for kids (I’ll be doing a review of it soon, so stay tuned!). I hurriedly downloaded it to Ziggy’s tablet and showed it to him. He was so happy because they’re all about trucks and other vehicles. He became so excited that he hugged me and said “Thank you, Mommy! I love you, Mommy!”. That made my day.
Day 6: Feb. 26
I was invited to a press and bloggers launch for the Chicdriven Women Empowerment Expo. It was held at the newly-opened Azumi Boutique Hotel in Alabang. I was immediately drawn to this lobby of theirs. Totally loved it!
Day 7: Feb. 27
It was on this day that Hubby, Ziggy and I went party supplies shopping for Ziggy’s birthday party. I love parties, more so if it’s for my kids. So, I super enjoyed shopping for the materials that I used for our DIY decor.
Seeing these photos already makes me happier. So, it looks like the #100HappyDays challenge is already working on me. Haha!
Have you joined this challenge as well? What makes you happy?

Oh, I’ve been seeing this too all over social media. I think it’s really a nice way to show gratitude to whatever little or big thing that’s happening to our lives daily. And oh, your daughters are so sweet. Even I, just by reading your happy moments, made me feel good, too. 🙂

That is really a good idea to jot down things that made you happy everyday. For me I’m happy everyday watching my 10 months old baby toddling around.
I wanted to join that challenge, but I’m always at home and feel like I would post boring photos!
