Two days ago, my girls introduced me to Spotify. I’ve heard of it a long time ago but never had a chance to use it until my girls showed the app to me on their iPad. How could I, the music lover, not have downloaded it eons ago?
It made me realize that I’ve been missing music in my life lately. Sure, I still sing and dance (by myself or with my kids) whenever I feel like it. But I haven’t really been listening to music lately. It’s a far cry from my old self who always had music playing in the background, who made playlists fit for whatever mood I had on any particular day. This realization inspired my quote for the week.
The minute I downloaded Spotify on my Android phone, it’s like I was transported into this other version of myself that I hadn’t seen in a while. That version of me can now be seen happily sweeping the floor while dancing to the tune of Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours) by Stevie Wonder. Suddenly, all is right in the world and no amount of bad vibes (certainly not even the super frustrating incident that happened to me yesterday) can get me down.
I’ve always said that I express myself best through writing. But sometimes, words are just not enough. Music has the ability to free my soul and inspire me.
My new found love for Spotify has actually inspired me to start a new series in the blog. I love Spotify because it introduces me to music from different genres. There are all sorts of playlists you can check out and it gives you the ability to create your own too. I’m also thinking of getting the Pro version which allows you to download the music and play songs even when you’re not online.
So, speaking of that new series, I decided that, since music is such a huge part of me, it would be great to share my playlists with you as well. I’ve already started two so far and I’m going to blog about them soon.
This is so exciting for me. I hope it will be for you too! What kind of music do you like? Let me know!
I have heard of spotify but i haven’t downloaded it yet. Am heading to play store.

I can’t live without music too. Every night before I go to sleep, I listen to a tune or two to relax my busy mind. I came across this saying, “If you want to know what a girl feels, find out what kind of music she is listening to.” I guess I have an idea of how you feel after reading this post. 🙂

Same here, I can’t live without music. In fact, whenever I needed to do something serious at work, I listen to classical music, lol. And yes, Spotify has been a big help to mobile music lovers like us. 🙂
