Our family has been frequenting SM BF Homes these past few months since they first opened. We like it there because, aside from the fact that it’s new, it’s also not as crowded compared to the other SM malls near us. We love the crowd there because they’re just chill.
New stores and restaurants have been opening up in SM BF Homes lately and one of those that we were so excited about was Vikings. There are no Vikings branches near us so their opening one in SM BF is really great for us.
I’ve only been to one Vikings branch, the one at the back of SM Mall of Asia. So, lucky for me, I got invited last week to check out their new branch in SM BF.
The Ambiance
I love the ambiance of the place. It’s very modern, which I love. Their lighting fixtures are so cool. The branch is not as big as their other branches but it still looks spacious enough. There is even a separate function room for parties and an outdoor seating area.
There are a lot of tables to accommodate hungry customers. What I didn’t like much though is that there are some areas where there’s not that much space between tables. But there are other seating areas that have more privacy and space.
The Food
I love that there are so many food options in Vikings. If you don’t eat that much like me, it will be impossible to sample everything in just one visit. Prepare to start salivating because I’ll be posting lots of photos below.
The first section I tried was the Japanese section (of course!). They have a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, tempura and yakitori.
Then there’s the salad bar where all the appetizers are. There a wide selection of breads, cheeses, finger food, salad toppings and dressings.
You can find the salad bar right smack in the middle of the restaurant, right when you enter.
Their main courses include American, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Spanish dishes. They have a carving station (where I got a lot of what I ate, hahaha!), a make your own pasta station, a dimsum station, a fresh seafood station, a barbeque station and a noodle station.
Some of their most notable dishes are the: Roast Duck, Ebi Tempura, Oyster Rockefeller, Boiled Suahe, Roasted Wagyu, Crispy Pork Slab, Crispy Sisig, Baby Back Ribs in Root Beer Sauce, Patatim, Japanese Yakitori, Lamb Shank in Walnut and Cranberry Sauce, and Roast Beef Tenderloin.
Now check out the dessert bar. There are so many choices of cakes, cookies and even Filipino kakanins. I love that they have a halo-halo bar, a candy bar, an ice cream bar, and of course, a chocolate souffle section too.
As for the drinks, I think they have the widest selection among all the buffet restaurants I’ve been to so far. There’s your usual iced tea, coffee and tea plus Milo and several different kinds of juices.
Now, take a look at my plates (yes, I had more than one, of course!). I tried not to fill them up too much because just looking at them might make me feel full already. I tried to pace myself too but still ended up way too full. Hahaha! There’s actually only four plates here but I actually had five.
Overall, it was a great dining experience. My favorites were the sushi bar and the carving station. I stuffed myself silly with a lot of meat. I especially love the wagyu and the crispy pork. I really am such a meat lover. I really did #EatLikeAViking! Next time though, I’ll try the other dishes.
One tip though, try to make a reservation before you go because there were a lot of people waiting to get in when we got there! We dined during lunch on a Friday, so just imagine how many more people will be there during dinner or on weekends. Happy eating!

There’s one near our office. I guess since I’ve done a marathon, it’s time to eat like a viking.

My first experience with Vikings wasn’t so pleasant, but my impression of it has been redeemed eventually when I tried another branch.
I am squealing here in my room hoping I could visit that place someday! I love sushi so much!

It’s good to know that there’s a Vikings branch nearby. I feel ashamed to admit that I haven’t tried Vikings yet, and I say that because almost everyone has already dined there! I feel like I’m missing out haha.
