Hubby and I have always had an inkling that our four-year-old, Ziggy, will not thrive in a traditional school. So, we decided to hold off on sending him to school for the time being and homeschool him instead.
However, we have been sending him to different types of classes during the past several months to determine where his interests lie and which types of teaching methods he likes. We have discovered that Ziggy doesn’t thrive in a typical classroom environment and instead enjoys classes that integrate play into their method of teaching.
That’s why I was so thrilled that he got a chance to try out Gymboree Sta. Rosa during their Grand Launch last April 18, 2015.
For those of you who are still unfamiliar with Gymboree, let me tell you more about them.
Gymboree is the most popular children’s program in the Philippines today. They strongly believe that every child should experience Gymboree or a proven early childhood program because many studies show that the most critical stage in a person’s development is in the first three years of life when 75% of the brain is developed.
One of their most distinguishing features is their unique approach to parental involvement that encourages participation and understanding of each child’s development. Apparently, children learn best when parents enter their world of play and imagination.
Gymboree offers a progression of developmentally-appropriate classes for children, newborn through 4 years. Activities are designed to help children develop their physical, social and cognitive skills in a group play environment.
Gymboree also offers music and art classes. Gymboree Music classes enhance your child’s development and love of music through song dance, movement games and instrument exploration. Gymboree Art classes inspire your child’s imagination and self-expression with a world of hands-on art activities.
Gymboree also offers a PreSchool program for 2-4 year olds that run for at least 3 days a week with 2 1⁄2 hours a day for a full academic year.
Just take a look at any Gymboree branch and you’ll see exactly why kids love it there. We’ve only been to a Gymboree branch before to let Ziggy play but he has never had a chance to try a class until the grand launching of Gymboree Sta. Rosa.
Gymboree Sta. Rosa is owned and operated by BT Brain-Train Academic Center and is located at the 2/F Brain Train Bldg., Sta. Rosa Business Park, Greenfield, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
According to its Directress, Dewmaine Sales-Ladaga, they heeded the request of many parents for them to open a school for younger kids. They decided to get a Gymboree franchise because they wanted a program that has stood the test of time and is continually being developed by experts.
The Grand Launching last April 18, 2015 started with Free gym play in the morning, which Ziggy (and his big sisters)thoroughly enjoyed.
I mean, how can kids not enjoy playing in Gymboree? Their playground has swings, slides, bridges, balls and other paraphernalia that lets kids explore all they want. Parents can relax too knowing that everything in the playground is safe and built with little kids in mind.
After the free gym play, the blessing and ribbon cutting followed in the afternoon, with special guests Richard Gutierriez and Sarah Lahbati with their son, Zion (aka Zion the Young Lion), as well as Eddie Gutierrez and wife, Annabelle Rama.
Afterwards, Zion’s 2nd birthday was celebrated with a lot of fun and games! Gymboree Play & Music Centers are also a great option for hosting birthday parties that are fun for kids and an easy, no-hassle experience for parents. An enthusiastic Gymboree teacher leads the activities as the birthday child and his or her friends play, laugh and sing together, creating a memorable celebration.
Ziggy and hubby got to participate in the fun (while I took photos!). We could tell that Ziggy enjoyed it so much!
Especially when there were bubbles involved!
Later on, we transferred to another room to partake on the party food!
I think they did a superb job on the party decor. I loved the circus theme! From the table set-up….
to the ceiling….
the dessert buffet spread….
and the giveaways table.
The food was great tasting too. So much so, that I failed to take photos! So, just take my word for it. Haha!
Ziggy had so much fun that he didn’t want to leave yet after the party. We actually stayed for another hour just so he can continue playing there. Until now, he keeps asking us when he can go back. We’re really excited to let him try a Gymboree class soon!

I heard about Gymboree a lot, I only wish they will have it also here in Cagayan de Oro.
