A couple of weeks ago, I shared with you here on the blog some news regarding the season 3 premiere of one of my favorite TV shows, Under the Dome. This week, I’m pleased to share another TV show premiering its second season on RTL CBS Entertainment HD, Extant.
But in case you don’t have the RTL CBS Entertainment HD channel yet, let me tell you something about it first.
Launched in Asia in 2013, RTL CBS Entertainment HD is the first channel of RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network, the venture formed by world leading content producers, RTL Group and CBS Studios International. A general entertainment channel, it offers a balanced mix of reality, drama, comedy and daily programs and features exclusive first run content aired soon after the initial US broadcast including series Scorpion, Extant, House of Cards, Under The Dome, Elementary and Beauty and the Beast; talent competitions Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor UK; and daily shows Entertainment Tonight, The Insider and The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Last Friday, July 10, I was invited by RTL CBS for the special media screening of Extant Season 2. Prior to this screening, I haven’t watched the series yet. But I’ve heard good things about it. The fact that Halle Berry is the main actress in the series also piqued my curiosity. So, I was really excited to watch it.
EXTANT is executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Halle Berry. It is a futuristic thriller about female astronaut Molly Woods, played by Halle Berry, who discovers she has unwittingly put the human race on a path to destruction.

In season 2, the threat that Molly thought was contained in space is now earthbound and spreading to become a major problem here on Earth. Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey’s Anatomy and Supernatural) adds an element of edginess in this season as cop JD Richter, who teams up with Molly to protect humanity.

Learning that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is part of Season 2 made me even more excited. You see, has been my crush since I first saw him on Grey’s Anatomy years ago. Hahaha! He’s just so …. sexy! Ever since then, I’m always on the look out for his appearances on TV or on film. So, you bet I’m not going to miss any episode of this show.

After the media screening, I spent the entire weekend with my boys catching up with all the 13 episodes of Season 1. I got hooked! It’s so good. We’re so into sci-fi shows at home lately and this one is seriously one of the best one there is. You never really know what’s going to happen next and who the real villains are. Everyone seems to have their own hidden agenda. It’s a little bit eerie but exciting too.
Halle Berry is, as usual, amazing in her role as Molly Woods. Plus, Pierce Gagnon, the “humanich” boy who plays her son, Ethan Woods, is so adorable too!
Season 2 of EXTANT promises more action with new showrunners Elizabeth Kruger and Craig Shapiro (Necessary Roughness) taking on the helm with series creator Mickey Fisher.
EXTANT Season 2 premieres first, exclusive and express on RTL CBS Entertainment HD on July 14, Tuesday at 9:55pm.

I better start catching up on this since a futuristic thriller is really very exciting to watch plus Halle Berry is such a great artist and Steven Spielberg is an epic director/producer.

I used to watch Under the Dome too because the plot is interesting and when I heard it was based from a novel written by Stephen King, I read it. Unfortunately, I didn’t like the book so I stopped watching it too.

This looks like a good watch. We don’t have cable though and I rarely watch TV now that I’m super busy with my students.
I’m not sure if we have this network or channel in our cable but I would love to check them out as early as now (just on its second season) so it would be much easier to catch up with the previous season. Halle Berry is a very good actress and I’m sure, I’d love this just like her other movies.
This tv show has a very interesting plot and casts, I love Halle Berry ever since the Xmen and Catwoman :).
