Two years ago, I had the pleasure of being invited to the launch of ChicDriven. ChicDriven is actually a motoring section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer wherein which its columnist, Jeanette Ipapo-Tuason, writes motoring articles catered specifically to women. This gave rise to ChicDriven, the women-for-women movement that aims to inspire and empower by sharing expertise and giving the tools to have it all.
I think this is such a great initiative because women, in general, have been receiving so much flak for their supposedly inferior driving skills. Women supposedly lack the knowledge necessary to navigate our roads and manage their cars safely. Therefore, we are usually thought of us helpless on the road – damsels in distress.
Well, ChicDriven aims to change all that with their ChicDriven Women Empowerment Expo, which was launched last April 10, 2016 during the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
The Chicdriven Expo 2016 is actually a three-leg series that tackles three important topics designed to empower women: MOBILITY, BALANCE and NURTURE.
MOBILITY was already tackled during the Manila International Auto Show from April 7 – 10, capped with a free Road Safety seminar conducted by no less than race car driver JP Tuason.
The next two legs of the series will also feature free seminars and will be scheduled as follows:
BALANCE – July 16-17 at Glorietta 2
NURTURE – October 1-2 at Alabang Town Center
With this expo, ChicDriven hopes that women will no longer be damsels in distress no more!
Should you be interested to register for the seminars, visit ChicDriven’s website and follow their Facebook page.
On another note, hubby, our son, Ziggy and I were able to go around the MIAS after the ChicDriven launch. Check out some of our photos!
