Project Yearbook: Ziggy is 17 Months Old!

I don’t know when I will stop saying this because I know I’ve been saying this a lot lately but it’s true – time flies by too fast! Ziggy turned 17 months old today. It really seems like yesterday when I first found out I was pregnant with him.

Before Ziggy turned 1, we used to celebrate his monthly birthdays. We stopped doing that after his first birthday although for today I was planning on celebrating again because we had plans of going out for a parenting seminar. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our trip and so we were stuck at home. Thankfully, my hubby thought of cooking up something special for dinner instead in honor of Ziggy’s special day. Here’s what he came up with.

We don’t have fish and chips that often at home but from now on maybe we should. Ziggy ate a lot of it! He likes fish and he loves potatoes (which he calls ‘tatoes, hehe!). I can’t blame him because it was YUMMY! Hubby should really become a chef one day.

Anyway, Ziggy’s becoming more of a big boy already. He’s almost done with his “no, no, NO!” phase. Recently, he started to understand what the word “mine” means and now suddenly everything became “mine, mine, MINE!”. It’s still really adorable and funny right now though of course this is also a signal for us to start teaching him the value of sharing. Good luck with that!

Physically, he’s no longer as chubby as he was as a baby but he’s still chubby enough. He now weighs 12 kilos, which to me is really heavy already. I cannot carry him for too long anymore. Thank God we use baby carriers (we actually have 3 different kinds) or else I don’t know how my arms will survive the weight. Ziggy’s speech is also improving. He’s still talkative but now his words are becoming clearer. I guess the only thing I’m really baffled about is his screaming fits. He LOVES to scream. He screams when he’s happy, sad, mad, excited, scared. He screams all the time. I’m kind of getting worried about it. I hope he gets over that phase soon for the sake of our ear drums.

Only 1 month to go and Ziggy will be celebrating his 18th month. I really want to celebrate it in some way because that’s a half year mark and to me that’s a big deal. I have only one month to plan it so I better start now!
