Last June 7, I was fortunate enough to have been invited by Intel Philippines to a special screening of Kung Fu Panda 2 in 3D. Yup, in 3D! I was so happy since they were so nice to have given me four tickets so that I can watch the film with Kai and the girls. Unfortunately, we had to leave Ziggy with his aunt. He wouldn’t understand the movie, anyway. I’m just really thankful that we got to go. One of the perks of being a blogger (hehehe!).
Anyway, I meant to write a movie review of Kung Fu Panda 2 but I kept putting it off because things around here just got too busy with the start of school. Since it’s too late now to write a review, I just decided to write about the lessons that we can learn from the movie. I happen to think that this second installment of the movie is funnier and more action-packed. We loved the first Kung Fu Panda but we LOVED this one even more. I just hope that the kids will remember the lessons they’ve picked up from the movie.
In Kung Fu Panda 2, we learned that:
  • It doesn’t pay to be greedy. – Just look at what happened to Lord Shen. Learn to be happy for what God has given you.  Nobody can have everything.
  • Practice makes perfect. Hard work pays off. – Po is such a Kung Fu expert now and he wouldn’t have been able to make it this far without hard work and lots, and lots, and lots of practice training.
  • Family is not always biological. – True, Po was adopted but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have family. He has his stepdad and his friends. Sometimes family does not consist of people you were born with. I was not adopted but I can positively say I believe in this 100%.
  • True friends will stick by you no matter what. –  True friends are those who will not run away at the first sight of trouble. Rather, they stay with you no matter what happens, no matter what it takes.
  • We can’t change our past but our future is still largely in our hands. – I can definitely say I can relate to this the most. A lot of bad things have happened to my past and for years I couldn’t let go of them. It was only when I chose to let them go that I could finally move on and my future was revealed to me. Yes, our past is a part of who we are but we can’t focus on that. We have to live in the present and for the future. Just like one famous quote from this movie goes, ‎”Your story may not have such a happy beginning but that doesn’t make you who you are, it is the rest of your story, who you choose to be.”
