Last Saturday, I was set to attend a reading event for the whole day. However, because of Zoe’s rash scare that occurred the night before, we had to take her to the doctor on Saturday morning. That left our entire Saturday afternoon free to attend the PLDT Home DSL Frozen Skating Party at the SM Mall of Asia. While I was really disappointed to have missed that other event, I was grateful for another opportunity to spend quality bonding time to connect with my family instead, which is exactly what PLDT Home DSL is all about.
I was the only one in our family who has tried ice skating before, but that was like 20 years ago so my ice skating skills were a bit rusty. But I was still really excited to try again. Hubby and Ziggy were just game to try something new. Zoe and Ziya were really the ones who wanted to ice skate so badly! So, what perfect way to do something for the first time as a family, right? Here we were ready to ice skate.
As it turns out, Ziggy didn’t like ice skating much. He and hubby spent 5 minutes by the railings before Ziggy decided he didn’t want to do it anymore. I can’t really blame him. He’s only 3 years old after all. Maybe when he’s a bit older he’ll like it better. Hubby was just as happy to watch from the sidelines because his feet were already hurting. He has size 13 feet and the biggest skates there were only size 11s. So, in the end, the boys just spent the time left eating popcorn and taking photos of me and the girls.
The girls discovered that ice skating isn’t all that easy after all. But I admire them for trying. I taught them how to balance themselves on their skates and how to “walk” or “march” on the ice without falling. They were able to go around the rink at least three times without holding on to the rails. Pretty good for first timers, I think.
It was nice seeing fellow mom blogger, Michelle of Momma ‘N Manila, and her kids during the event. They were all learning how to ice skate too. Thanks for this photo, Michelle!
Aside from the skating, there were also several games held during the party. There was also this small nook where kids can color photos of the Frozen characters. Kids who submitted their colored photos got candy. Weee!!! There was also a shaved ice booth that served shaved ice drinks to the party-goers. Ziggy loved it!
I must say, though, that the real star of the event was Olaf. It just wouldn’t be a Frozen party without him. Ziggy was afraid of him at first, but by the end of the day, he was already playing with him and giving him a hug.
Of course, since this was a PLDT Home DSL event, the Ledesma family, from that famous TVC and the equally famous ASK DIEGO Facebook page, were also there to grace the occasion. It’s just too bad I wasn’t able to take photos of them. I saw Diego and his Ate Trisha on the rink too but didn’t have my camera with me then. It’s just nice seeing them there also spending time with their family. Leave it to PLDT Home DSL to remind everyone how important family time is wherever you are. And of course, when you’re at home it’s also PLDT Home DSL that gives us a strong, reliable family-sized connection too. For more information about PLDT Home DSL, do visit their website at www.pldthome.com.
Thanks so much to PLDT Home DSL for inviting us to attend the Frozen Skating Party! Thank you too for giving us these Frozen DVDs and magazines to take home. The kids love them!
We’re giving some of these to my niece and nephews but there will be One (1) Frozen DVD and One (1) Frozen magazine left, so I’m giving them away here on the blog!!! Wanna win them?

My favorite Frozen character is Elsa because being good, then after the coronation letting it go and turning evil but still caring about Anna (This is why lifes too short was made) and then when she’s back in arendelle captured (life’s too short reprise) she is all confused, but in the end turns good again but in a better, happier way!
