Spread the love

Two days ago, Kai and I took Ziggy to his first check-up with his new pediatrician. She’s a new pediatrician meaning she wasn’t the one who was there when I gave birth to Ziggy. We chose this pediatrician because she came highly recommended by my sister-in-law, who has two young sons. I was really, really pleased to have chosen her because she was really nice and accommodating, very thorough and very concerned about making sure that her patients are healthy and will grow up intelligent.
Anyway, we were also pleased to find out that Ziggy has grown. From 2.95 kg at birth, he now weighs exactly 3 kg and from 49 cm at birth, his length is now 51 cm. He’s well within the average height and weight for his age. Good to know! However, the doctor also noticed that Ziggy is no longer satisfied with just 2 oz of formula so she advised us to increase the dosage to 3 oz. This is until my breast milk supply can finally catch up. It is just unfortunate that my supply just can’t keep up with Ziggy’s demands. I haven’t lost hope though. I was starting to get depressed about it but I just keep reminding myself that some breast milk is better than nothing. I’ll keep trying to increase my supply though. Hopefully everything will turn out fine.
I’m closing this post with a photo that Kai took of Ziggy today while they were playing. This is the Day 10 photo of our Project Yearbook.
Where is Ziggy?

  7. I do hope everything will work out for you as well! Milk supply was something I constantly struggled with with my daughter, this time around however, with my son, I have had no troubles!
Just keep in mind, the more you pump or breastfeed directly, the more you will make! (I don’t know your exact circumstances, but this is in general!)

  9. Hello ‘Ice!

I am visiting and now following you from Tara’s blog hop. I have to be honest and say that I don’t have children so I may not be able to contribute much to your parenting posts, but from what I have read of your blog so far, I like you! I read your “Who Is This Mom?” page and it is so honest, beautifully written and just…real. It is very refreshing!

Your little girls are beautiful…and congratulations on your newest addition! I love the idea of Project Yearbook…and today’s photo of Ziggy, especially.

I just wanted to say hello and let you know that I am reading along. Have a great week!

    Aloha,
    Angie
