As soon as hubby and I found out I was pregnant, we couldn’t wait to think of possible names for a girl and for a boy. The one thing we agreed on was that the first name must begin with the letter Z. Why? Well, because I only know a few people whose names start with a Z, which means the probability of running into someone with the same name is slim. That’s why my daughters’ names are Zoe and Ziya. Of course, the new baby’s name has to begin with a Z, too.
Finding the perfect name was a challenge. There are so many things to consider. The fact that we had to find a name that begins with Z made it even harder. However, we were able to come up with some ideas. It was a bit easier to think of girl names but it took us months to decide on a boy’s name. Actually, for the boy, we first decided on a nickname last November or December. We wanted to call him Ziggy, for its cuteness and laid back factors. Finding a first name though was really tough because there is a serious lack of boy Z names out there. So we decided to find a name that usually begins with an S then just turn it into a Z to make it unique. That’s how we came up with Zeth. The fact that it means “annointed” is just perfect.
Then came the dilemma of the second name. Initially, we chose the name Parker for no reason other than because we just like the sound of it. We eventually made some last minute changes, and decided a few days before Ziggy was born that his second name was going to be Carlson. We chose Carlson as a tribute to Kai’s dad and Ziggy’s granddad, whose name is Carlito, the Filipino version of Carlson. Kai is also actually just a nickname, derived from Carl, which is Kai’s second name.
So, that is how we got ZETH CARLSON, more popularly known to us as ZIGGY.
I think Ziggy is such a cute nick name 🙂
We waited for three sons before we named him after my husband. I am now following you from the hop and would love a follow back at http://mizzreviewlady-mommyreviews.blogspot.com/
