Our First Kiss

As my entry to this week’s Couple’s Corner, let me tell you the story of the first kiss Kai and I shared.

As a backgrounder, you may want to read first the story of when Kai first told me he loves me, which was my entry last week. The first kiss happened the week after that. We were out on our usual date. This time we were in one of those garden/coffee shop places outside one of the malls in the south. It was nighttime. The place had these small huts amidst the greenery. We were just in one of those huts talking and listening to the music coming from the bars nearby. It was very cozy and romantic and I remember feeling so good about the whole thing.

By then, I already knew how I really felt about him but haven’t told him yet. Each time we were together I just found myself falling more and more and wanting to be closer and closer to him. That night was no different. Since I knew he was waiting for me to be ready to start a relationship with him, I knew he wasn’t going to try anything. Out of respect for my initial decision to wait, I knew he was gentleman enough to not make the first move. But I could not take it anymore.

So, while we were talking I told him, “You know what? I have hands longer than the typical girl’s hands.” He said, “Really?”. Well, he’s a tall, big guy so I knew his hands were longer than mine but I replied “Yeah. You want to compare how long my hands are to yours?” So, we both held out one hand and placed them palm to palm against each other. Then instead of saying anything, he curved his fingers and held my hand for the first time. Then I looked up and he was staring at me and THE KISS just happened….. It was everything I wanted a first kiss to be. Right then I knew I could no longer deny my feelings.

So after that ….. that’s when I told him I love him too.
