Here we go again. It’s the fourth and last quarter of the school year. What does that mean for a mom of a third and second grader? It means lots, and I mean, LOTS of homework and projects to submit before the scheduled final exams. Would it be so obvious to say that I’m not looking forward to it?
Any mom of a grade schooler would understand my predicament. I have to do this every quarter, as in, FOUR quarters in a year. Plus, it becomes twice as challenging because I have TWO grade schoolers. If that’s not challenging enough for you, take note that there’s a minimum of FOUR projects per child. So, if my computation is correct, I have to help make 8 projects per quarter or 32 PROJECTS A YEAR!!! That’s only talking about projects, though. There are the daily homework that have to be done as well, plus the fact that their final exams are already coming at the end of the month. Thinking about it already makes me feel exhausted.
I guess, it wouldn’t be so bad if I was the visually creative type but I’m not. Good thing Kai helps out on that department. However, it still involves a lot of brainstorming, planning and organizing and that’s my department. This time around, though, it’s really driving me crazy because I’m also due to give birth any day now. So, we have to finish all the projects as well as help the kids study all their lessons since the First Quarter before I give birth. The problem is I don’t know exactly when I’m giving birth because I am not having a scheduled C section (Thank God!). I had normal deliveries before and that’s how I plan to deliver Ziggy as well, thank you very much. But that means we have to have everything done, like, NOW. Yikes!
This is enough to make me wish that Zoe and Ziya are in high school already. I expect they won’t be needing me much for homework by that time. Then again, Ziggy is not even born yet, which means I’ll have to go thru this all over again. Oh no!
