What better way to feel the Christmas spirit than by listening to Christmas songs?
Last night, Kai had the privilege of becoming one of the judges for the 3rd day elimination rounds of the 8th Vivere Hotel Choir Competition. Of course, the kids and I just had to tag along. It was the kids’ first time to witness such a competition and we thought it would be nice to expose them to such events.
The competition has two main categories: adult choir church/community category and the adult choir school category. The elimination rounds started since Monday, December 13, 2010, until tomorrow, December 16. Those who won the elimination rounds will come back for the finals on Friday, December 17. For each category, the third placers will get a cash prize of Php 15,000, then Php 25,000 for the second place. The grand prize winners of each category will get to take home a whopping Php 50,000. Not bad, right?
Last night it, five schools competed against each other and the University of Makati emerged as the winner. For the church competition, though, two out of three backed out at the last minute and so the one and only church choir who competed last night, a group from Cavite, was winner by default. Vivere Hotel has been organizing this competition since eight years ago. Everybody is invited to come watch the last elimination rounds tonight and the grand finals tomorrow both at 5pm at the hotel lobby.
Vivere Hotel is located at 5102 Bridgeway Ave. cor. Asean Drive, Filinvest Corporate City, Alabang. For room reservations, check out their website by clicking here. When you’re there, don’t forget to check out the Sky Lounge at the 31st floor. We’ve dined there a couple of times already, last night included. The food is good and the view is amazing!
