I know. This post is wwwaaaaayyyy overdue. But better late than never, right?
Besides, the main reason why I started this blog was to record our family’s special moments and so I still decided to blog about how we spent our Halloween this year. So, here goes.
Our Halloween this year is actually pretty chill. I used to be that mom who was always on the lookout for the best costumes and the most fun Halloween events and activities but that has slowly changed over the years.
This year, the company where hubby works had a Halloween celebration for their employees and their families. They took everybody to a tour of the office, which included a trick or treat, and prepared some other activities as well. Here’s a photo of our three kids at the office.
This is actually our one and only photo at the event. Why? Well, because the company has VERY strict policies about privacy and security within the office. So, we were not allowed to take photos during the tour and the other activities except for this one shot by the photo wall. Better than nothing, right?
You’ll notice that only Ziggy was in costume. Well, since our girls are in high school now, they don’t really go trick or treating anymore. However, since Ziya is still only 12 years old, she was still allowed to join.
As you can also see, Ziggy’s Optimus Prime Transformers costume was pretty simple. It was actually a pajama set that we bought in SM! Last year, he had a similar one with a Spiderman design. He loved it so much because it was a lot more comfy than the fancier costumes. Hubby and I were just too happy to buy it because it was cheaper too. Plus, Ziggy also got to wear it at home too since they are, after all, really pajamas. Best deal ever, if you ask me.
These are the loot that the kids got. Don’t mind the planner on the photo. That was initially meant to be posted on my planner IG account. Haha! The kids got a lot of sweets and some mini toys or games too so they were pretty happy about that.
Anyway, the event at hubby’s office was quite short and we had nothing left to do. So, we opted to go to a mall to spend the rest of our afternoon. We ended up in Glorietta where we chanced upon this exhibit.
There were a lot of figurines of vehicles and stuff on exhibit. Since Ziggy is obsessed with all sorts of vehicles, of course, we had to stop and view the exhibit.
We walked around the mall and discovered they had their own Halloween activities too. We weren’t able to join anymore but got to take a few photos. Here’s one of them.
After that, we were already pretty hungry so we decided to have snacks. We ended up at Dad’s where there was an Eat-All-You-Can Merienda.
It has been so long since we last dined at Dad’s. They have the best merienda buffet. We stayed there the whole time the merienda buffet was open. So, you can imagine just how stuffed we all were afterwards. We were so full, we didn’t need to have dinner that day anymore. Haha!
After that, we decided it was time to go home already. On our way out of the mall though, we saw Optimus Prime outside Friday’s. So, of course we just had to take a photo of him with Ziggy.
So, you see, the day was really pretty chill. So unlike the Halloweens we’ve had in the past. I think this is how I prefer it to be. I didn’t stress about anything. No one complained about itchy and uncomfortable costumes. We got to spend quality time with each other. In the end, that’s the most important thing.
How did you guys spend your Halloween?
