Hi. I’m Janice Lim and I’m a coffee addict. Hahaha! True story.
Blame it on my 5.5 years collective working experience in the local coffee industry but I really can’t live without coffee. Back then we had access to unlimited cups of brewed coffee in the office. We also benefited from discounts whenever we dine in the company’s branches.
So, at home, I always have to have 1 – 2 cups of coffee a day. Sadly, an espresso machine is too expensive for home use and it’s too time consuming to use anyway. So, we’ve been using Nescafe instant coffee instead. But most of the time that gets a bit boring, don’t you agree? Don’t you wish you can easily create those deliciously layered coffee that you get in the coffee shops instead?
Good thing I discovered the Nescafe Red Mug!
The Nescafe Red Mug machine is a unique innovation that easily creates cafe style coffee at home. Developed in Switzerland, it features a coffee chamber with a unique cyclone that brings out the Nescafe Classic coffee aroma and flavor. It also has a foaming jet technology that creates foam with ease, inspired by the barista steam jets you see in local coffee shops.
Maybe you’ve heard of the Nescafe machine that uses coffee pods. This one doesn’t! You can use just the regular Nescafe Classic and Nestle Coffee-mate and you can already #StartCreating delicious coffee creations such as Americano, Mocha, Cappuccino, Latte and more.
This machine is so easy to use. You just need to put in all the ingredients (cream, sugar, flavorings) in the cup (without the coffee), put the cup in the machine and turn the lever left to the Cappuccino position. This is what creates the foam. Then put a teaspoon (or more) of coffee in the mixing chamber, turn the lever right to the Coffee position, and out comes the coffee. All this in only 2 minutes!
I attended the launch of Nescafe Red Mug at The Blue Leaf last November 4 and it was such a fun event. Brand ambassadors Denise Laurel, Richard Gutierrez and Bianca King were in attendance.
The event started with host Tessa Prieto-Valdez introducing a demo of the Nescafe Red Mug. They created a concoction called Cinnamon Christmas Cappuccino and everyone got a chance to taste it. So Christmas-sy! (I actually love doing my own version of this at home.)
Then we were all divided into three groups headed by one of the brand ambassadors. I ended up in Denise’ group. Turns out that the ambassadors created their own coffee concoctions and were supposed to teach us how to make them. In the end, judges will determine the winning concoction and winning group.
Denise’ concoction is called the Hug in a Mug. I seriously love it, especially because it has cookie butter in it.
It really does feel like getting a hug in a mug! Here she is demonstrating how to make it.
Here’s the machine in action! See those amazing layers forming. So nice, right? Imagine, you can do that at home in only 2 minutes. Coffee heaven!
So, who do you think won? Our team did! Yahoo. I was so happy because not only did I get to take home my very own Nescafe Red Mug, I also got a huge Crate & Barrel coffee container. Yay!
I really enjoyed myself at the event, in the company of other mommy bloggers too.
You can get your own Nescafe Red Mug too and #StartCreating your own coffee concoctions. But you better hurry because it’s now being sold at a special introductory price of Php1,999.00 until December 2015 only. The Nescafe Red Mug is available in select SM, Robinsons, Landmark, Puregold and Merkado Supermarket branches in Metro Manila. This special package will come with a transparent glass mug, 100 grams of NESCAFÉ CLASSIC, and 250 grams of NESTLÉ COFFEE-MATE.

I need this! I love coffee too and yes sometimes the usual 3-in-1 can get boring. I experiment with mixing sachets and adding ingredients like Milo. I hope I see this ASAP!
I haven’t tried mixing sachets before, Chessy. But with this I guess I will never have to. Haha! Get one na! 🙂
