I’ve been wanting to blog seriously for so long. I’ve tried it before. I have a blog on Multiply, which I started years ago. However, it got to be boring after so many of my friends moved on to Facebook. So, I started to blog on i.ph. But after one blog, I decided to discontinue it, mainly because I found it so hard to manipulate. This time, though, I’m serious about wanting to blog (and wanting to earn from blogging). So, here is my third attempt.
For those who don’t know me, I’m a thirty-one year old mom of two. I have two wonderful daughters, Zoe and Ziya, ages 9 and 7 respectively. Though they are mostly typical kids, most people always say they are the most behaved kids they’ve ever encountered. Thanks to my super great parenting skills, haha! But I seriously am very blessed they are who they are and I am nothing short of proud of them and of the persons they’re turning out to be considering our not so traditional set up. You see, their dad and I have separated almost 3 years ago for reasons I will no longer divulge here. It was definitely a challenge to everyone involved but if there was one thing we agreed on when we separated it was that we will raise the kids the same way we always have and that they will always be first priority. I am very happy to say that he and I have managed to maintain a sane relationship and continue to work together as parents to Zoe and Ziya.
Over the past 2 years though, I was fortunate enough to meet someone, who shared my values, interests and passions in life….. someone who taught me to love again and to believe in happily ever after…. someone who loves my kids like his own….and that person is Jon (or Kai, the nickname that only his family calls him). Here’s a photo of our family taken last Christmas.
This year, we were finally blessed with a new upcoming addition to our family….yes, I am expecting! I am currently on my 25th week of pregnancy and due to give birth in March (or late February!). We don’t know yet if the baby’s a girl or a boy but we’ll find out in two to three weeks when we have the 3D/4D ultrasound. I can’t wait!
This blog site will contain my stories about my new life, including the challenges of being a new work-at-home mom. Since I graduated from college, I was always working for companies or for family businesses but I finally made the big move to resign from my last job last August 2010. One of my goals for the year was to transition as a work-at-home mom and it finally happened last September. It doesn’t come without its share of challenges, however. I am constantly on the look-out for income generating ventures that I can do from home. Managing a household (without a helper, I might add) is definitely a challenge.
My life has been a roller coaster ride since I was little, but I can definitely say that I am now finally living my best life. All I can hope for is that blessings will continue to come. Hope you’ll share in this journey with me.
