Regular followers of this blog would know that I love reading and so do my kids. We regularly go to bookstores to find good books to read. Aside from books, though, I also love collecting magazines. One magazine that I always have to buy every month is Smart Parenting. I started buying them since Zoe and Ziya were toddlers but I stopped when they reached 7 years old. Smart Parenting is targeted to moms whose kids are ages 0 to 6 years old. However, I started buying again when I got pregnant with Ziggy.
Smart Parenting is a great resource for everything about parenting. I am so happy that I started reading them again because there are so many new things to learn. Apart from that, they have also started to include a copy of National Geographic Little Kids in each issue. Oh, even if my girls are already considered big kids, they still love it. They can’t wait to grab the latest issue of National Geographic Little Kids whenever I buy Smart Parenting. I can’t blame them for being so enthusiastic about it. There truly is a lot of neat stuff to learn in each issue.
Here are the different sections in National Geographic Little Kids. There are really fun stuff such as…..
The Maze (too simple for big kids but great for little kids!)
Picture Game
Sorting
Naming (Great way for me to teach Ziggy about the names of different things.)
Science Experiment (Any kid would love this!)
Crafts (One of Zoe and Ziya’s favorites. They love anything to do with arts and crafts.)
and Counting Game (Perfect way to teach Ziggy how to count).
Aside from those, it also teaches kids about …..
Letters
Nature (I love this because I always teach my kids to love nature and to respect and take care of God’s gifts.)
Animals (Zoe and Ziya love animals. The cover always features an animal and my girls can’t wait to see which animal will be featured next.)
and Culture (My personal favorite because it’s important to teach kids what goes on around the world).
For a mom like me, who has a limited budget for extras, buying a magazine is usually not considered a priority. However, for me, Smart Parenting is a must have, moreso now that it comes with National Geographic Little Kids. I highly recommend it. The Php 125.00 I spend on this every month is well worth every centavo. We’re looking forward to reading more! Nothing beats learning while being entertained at the same time.
