For those of you who don’t know, I’ve worked for the Philippine coffee industry twice, on and off for several years. Come to think of it, my first and last jobs were both with organizations that are under the local coffee industry. The last one was with the Philippine Coffee Board Inc. (PCBI), which aims to promote Philippine coffee and help increase local production.
The PCBI holds an annual coffee festival during the month of October, which in recent years has been known to be the coffee month. This year, the coffee festival called Coffee Origins 2012 – Coffee and Culture, will be presented by the PCBI, in cooperation with Krem-Top. It will be held from October 4 – 14, 2012 at The Gallery, 2nd Level, Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati City. If you’re a coffee-lover and you’d like to get a chance to taste different coffee varieties and blends from all over the country for FREE, you don’t want to miss this.
Aside from the coffee sampling activity, the PCBI will be having other fun activities as well such as the Barista Latte Jam and a Coffee Demo. If you’re interested to attend coffee seminars, they will have those as well. The featured seminars this year will be How To Put Up A Coffee Shop with Ms. Chit Juan and Cupping and Roasting with Mr. Manny Torrejon. Both seminars will be held at the Enderun Colleges.
